YEAH!!! In South Pasadena near Los Angeles, a man first went into Vons grocery store and tried to purchase some laundry detergent with a 100 dollar bill. The cashier noticed that the bill wasn't legit, and turned him away! He went outside the store where there were Girl scouts selling cookies. He bought 3 boxes, paying with the fake 100 dollar bill and he got 85 dollars back in change! The poor little girl /girl scout had no idea of course that the money was fake! :( It was discovered but he isn't caught yet!!! But can you imagine, I mean come on ripping off the girl scouts paying with counterfeit money!!!! It is all over the news here today!!

That is horrible!!!
It reminds me of a time (I think 25 years ago) when my wife was a Girl Scout Leader in two different troops, a Brownie Troop and a Jurior Troop.
She had a scout (or parent) from each troop that didn't turn in the money.
The Brownie sold 25 boxes at $2.00 a box (for $50.00) and the Jurior sold 125 boxes at $2.00 a box ($250.00)
My wife was so scared that the troops, or worse that she would be held responsible for the money. Instead, when she turned the money into the Girl Scout Office, they handed her a form to fill out....told her that it was a "common problem"... The form included the name of the scout, the parent(s) name, address, phone number, total amount, and excuse given.
The Girl Scout was still allowed to be in the Girl Scouts, even if the money was not collected. They were even allowed to sell cookies in the future.
When the cookies would come in, the Scout Leader would have to give the scout a letter from the office that said: "They would have to pay for them 'in advance' or to tell the people that bought them, to contact the office for delivery."
