I remember him, he popped up in a lot of shows back than. He actually played Jeff Maitland, Nancy's husband in the show Family. The actors name is John Rubinstein.

The father was handsome and looked good for his age, but I liked the son! And he was about 25 I'm gonna say? Mary said she was 6 years older than him. That isn't very much, and he liked her! I would have went for him!!! Or heck Rhoda should have tried to date him!!! ;)
He was mature, and an architect too, so a secure good job! A mature , settled down 25 year old guy isn't too young for an early 30's woman! ;)

I was watching that episode, too! Such a long time ago -- 43 years! Yes, John Rubenstein played the son, and Bradford Dillman played his father. John Rubenstein, now 68, has had a very active career that continues to this day. Bradford Dillman, who turns 85 next month, appears to have ended his movie and TV career about 20 years ago, last appearing on Murder, She Wrote. Here they are then and in more recent times. The first picture is from the episode, the second is John Rubenstein, and the third is Bradford Dillman.

My dad liked that one. It only lasted a couple of seasons but it felt like it lasted a lot longer. I seem to remember it being re-run after its original run ended on CBS late night.
