Whether or not Fish Mooney survives her encounter with the Dollmaker, Gotham star Jada Pinkett Smith will not be returning for the show's second season, the actress confirmed today on ABC's LIVE with Kelly and Michael.

It's not the first time the actress has hinted that she might not make it -- during a recent conference call she suggested that the rest of the season was no easy road for her character.

"Well, it's not quite over yet but we'll see if Fish survives the season," the actress told reporters. "It's a little tense from here on out, that's for sure. It's a little rough on Fish from here on out."

Still, she had previously stopped short of saying that her character wouldn't return -- and even today she kept the language somewhat open.

"I don't think so," she admitted when asked by the hosts whether she is coming back. "I signed for a year and the year's up. BUT! There are some great things coming ahead on Gotham, believe you me."

that's too bad, I think she has done a great job with the character

I'm surprised Jada is still acting because I figured she would let Will Smith take care of her since he makes enough money LOL. She's aged well and Will is lucky to have her. I think that hot white woman Margot Robbie who's in Will's new movie Focus is hotter than Jada LOL. I know Will was happy to have some love scenes with her and I like the sexy outfits she wore in Focus from the previews I saw. I haven't seen the movie but I wanna see it.

I can't wait to see how Fish goes off.

Never say never, I'm sure she'll be back at some point.
