View Full Version : Nick at Nite, this is absolutely enough!
bballjock25 10-15-2001, 03:06 PM I was watching Nick at Nite last evening, Sunday October 14th and I was shocked and baffled by the lineup. 10 o clock, double block of Cheers, then at 1, the same block. Do you only have five shows now to air, WHAT THE HELL! And whoever is running the boards at Nickelodeon overnite is whacking off or eating Wendy's, because most of the episodes didn't end on the 30 minute mark of the hour, it was 4:50 when the 4:30 episode of Brady Bunch started. Lets get people who know how to the job right in there and this other ******* out. He or She belongs at the local Taco Bell or Ponderosa washing dishes. They have no experience obviously in radio or tv. You don't play PSA or long spots that will cause your hours to collide. I today am making a pact, if Nick at Nite isn't on the ball by November 15th, I will be watching my videos and pornos from now on.
Truth 10-15-2001, 03:32 PM LOLOL yeah Nick-At-Nite is real messed up, only reason its still worth watchin is for three's company
DarleneIllyria 10-15-2001, 03:45 PM I only watch N @ N for All in the Family, since the dopes took Diff'rent Strokes off. They do need to get somebody up there that knows how to run the channel.

Lumpy: Did you go out for anything, Dud?
Dudley: Well, I went out for football, but I got my finger stepped on, so my mother made me quit.
Eddie: Well listen-- I went out for basketball and I got my hair pulled, and my mother made ME quit.
Dudley: It's not that I was afraid of getting hurt or anything; it's just that-- well, it's kind o' hard to play the flute with a busted finger.

James 10-15-2001, 09:38 PM Yeah, the only thing left that's worth watching on N@N is "The Brady Bunch", and that's now on in the 4-5 am slot!
LucyFan 10-16-2001, 12:52 AM I have given up on Nick at Nite. It is not my favorite channel anymore. They have gone way too far with the butchering of their shows, credit crunching, messing up the line-ups, and getting rid of our favorites such as The Lucy Show, I Love Lucy, Laverne & Shirley, Bewitched, and many other wonderful shows. Nick at Nite is really screwed up and I have never imagined it to get so worse. I hope Nickelodean takes over N@N and a brand
new 24-hour network emerges taking the place of N@N.
twinkle44301 10-16-2001, 12:24 PM Whoever owns N@N also owns MTV, VH1, TV Land and TNN(at least I think so. They share the same address according to my sat guide). The shows all have the same characteristics now.
The other day while surfing, I saw those same annoying pop-ups(that I hated on N@N) on MTV(or VH1). I also hate the black line on the bottom of TNN(which I don't watch anymore because of it).
I guess they are trying to appeal to a younger crowd, but all these "gimmicks" annoying me.
As for N@N repeating the same show later in the evening, I agree, that is crazy.
In my opinion, TNN, N@N & TV Land have gone downhill since they have changed hands. N@N and TNN are the worst of the three.
Lance Link 10-16-2001, 06:10 PM Maybe the crunching of credits, pop ups, black bars at the bottom of the screen and heavily edited shows must be their way of thinking they are keeping with the times.
ClassicTVHits 10-16-2001, 06:32 PM A possibility is that Master Control people who are in charge of that are not paid very well, so they don't really care about times, etc, etc, etc.
Jack1000 10-16-2001, 07:35 PM I agree 100%. I can not understand shows starting and ending anywhere from 6-10 minutes after they are supposed to. Who is the general manager at Nick at Night? Since N@N and Tv Land are both owned by the same company, we should expect quality content on BOTH stations. What garbage we have been spewed with at Nick at Nite! I agree with the poster who said Brady Bunch is the only thing worth watching (Well....ok I do watch All in the Family) but, what a s**t lineup!
Sean Snow 10-16-2001, 08:16 PM I've really had it! Now Nick has moved TC to midnight, and "The Jeffersons" is on at 5 AM, and "All in the Family" (Which Is Sked. To Leave TV Land this Nov) is on at 2 AM! And "Laverne & Shirley", "Diff'rent Strokes", and "The Facts of Life" are gone, and we have to deal with this Brady Crap!
TV Land is waaayy better! They Are More Dedicated to Their Fans (IMO), and there sked has a lot of varity, from a redheaded gal named Lucy to a secret agent named Smart.
Robert Tilton 10-16-2001, 10:53 PM About TNN and the Black Bar:
If you surf on over to TNN it looks like the Black Bar is Gone! Noticed it the other day w/Miami Vice and now I'm watching and its Still Gone as of Now!
To which I say:
Hip hip Hurray! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

AMEN! Hai Glory! Set me free! Yeah!
Unbelievable! Right when I was writing they slapped the Crappy Unnecessarily Deadly Black Bar Up Again! The 11:00 PM EST showing of Star Trek. Do they have interns out there working on the software that inserts the bugs? I noticed it yesterday the Bar was GONE; now its BACK!!! What the Frick?
No problem. TNN is grounded as of now! Turning it to Trinity Broadcasting Network Christian TV Now.
Amen.

Krisalicious 10-17-2001, 04:10 PM I HATE THE BRADY BUNCH! Why does it get A FULL HOUR? 60 MINUTES???? It doesn't even deserve 60 seconds! Three's Company is my fav sitcom on N@N...now its 12:00 and 12:30?? FOL is my second fav...which they TOTALLY took off! I mean...Cheers and Family Ties...they're ok....not the best..but ok...better then the Brady Bunch!
DarleneIllyria 10-17-2001, 04:21 PM Well, if they remove "All in the Family" in November then I won't be watching N @ N at all. They are screwing up so bad.

I can see Nick taking over Nick @ Nite sometime within the next ten years. After all Nick @ Nite used to go on the air @ 8pm, now its much later. Plus now its the 80s on Nick @ Nite. Whats next? Friends ? Third Rock?
I read here that Nick will soon air The Cosby Show. I dont get it !! Nothing against Cosby ( or Friends ) but anyone who lives in/near a good sized tv market should be able to pick up Friends, Drew Carey, Roseanne, Cosby, Cheers ,ect..should be able to get those shows on regular television. Makes no sense putting them on channels on must pay for like Nick @ Night or even TBS.
If Nick would put on shows that for the most part cant be found anywhere else ( maybe except in some select cities ), shows like Gimme a Break, Whats Happening, Too Close for Comfort, ect.. Then that would be different.
I knew I forgot something...
About the master control thing....wonder if there is anybody there at all late nights?
Could be the reason for the strange starts/endings timewise of their shows. After all many tv stations are now automated, why should cable channels be any different?

I feel the same way. There are so many great classic shows that aren't being shown. I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith and some others are wonderful shows. But I can watch them on a local station. For awhile, Andy Griffith was on Nick, TV Land, TBS and XETV in San Diego. That's too much, so I tuned out! If they want viewers they need to be a little creative and find something different.
I love classic sitcoms but i must admit Tv Land and Nick at Nite stink !!
My reasons for saying this:
1. Poor choices of new additions
2. voiceovers
3. split credits
4. slicing and dicing episodes
5. skipping or not airing special episodes
