That was so funny!!! :D Stephanie and Joanna opened an Aerobics exercise class. They started fighting shortly after over seniority. Of course Stephanie was the instigator , she though she should be the one in charge and Joanna should be more of just an employee. Stephanie put more money into starting the business than Joanna did !

So they got to arguing during a class and in walks Dick who they made take over and lead the class in exercise. He had no idea what to do to teach them, so he ended up having them all doing the "Hokey pokey" dance!:eek: :D It was hysterical seeing Dick up there leading the class in that! :lol: You put your left leg in, you put your left leg out, Etc. And the class was following along all enthusiastic about it!!! :lol: :D

Yeah, you gotta see it!! What makes it so funny, besides it's a grown man doing the hokey pokey (A kindergarten dance) and leading an exercise class, it is Bob Newhart!:D :eek: He is his usual, deadpan, straight faced self doing this, and that is what is making it so hysterical, and the class getting all into it, and in the background Stephanie and Joanna fighting!!! :lol: :D

I thought it was so funny when he was trying to walk like George. I couldn't stop laughing. Bob Newheart did a lot of funny things on the show.

Vastly amusing!! As a child I hated the hokey pokey, but I now find its use in comedy beyond funny!!

Just had seen this extremely funny episode during the marathon on Antenna Tv New Year's Eve and which I'd stayed awake much of the night to waTch, lol. It's one of my favorite episodes.

I'll miss Newhart! Tho I have 2 of the 8 seasons on DVD, I'll miss seeing the other episodes on antenna tv.

I was watching Newhart on Antenna TV before we lost our affiliate, and it is very underrated. I think it has aged better than his 70s show.

I’m not a huge fan of Tom Poston, and Larry and the Darryls are best in limited doses. But the others are great. Julia Duffy does the spoiled heiress thing very well, and I think Mary Frann also did a nice job what could have been a thankless role - I liked how her chipper character was different from Suzanne Pleshette’s Emily. But the best part, of course, is Bob himself.
