Disney XD is revisiting "Ducktales". The network said today that it has ordered a new animated comedy series based on the Emmy-winning series that aired from 1987-1990 as part of The Disney Afternoon daily syndicated cartoon block.
The new series is slated to launch in 2017. Produced by Disney Television Animation, "Ducktales" will again star Disney’s iconic characters Scrooge McDuck, his grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, and Donald Duck.
“DuckTales has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history, it drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’ comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults,” said Marc Buhaj, SVP, Programming and General Manager, Disney XD.
“Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.”
The new series will follow Scrooge McDuck, his curious and mischief-making grandnephews — Huey, Dewey and Louie — and the optimistic yet temperamental Donald Duck as they embark on high-flying adventures worldwide.
Other beloved characters slated to be in the new stories are: Duckworth, Gyro Gearloose, Launchpad McQuack, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell & Poe, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys (Burger Beagle, Bouncer Beagle), Mrs. Beakley and Webbigail Vanderquack.

king of comedy 02-25-2015, 06:28 PM Yay!!!! They should bring back Darkwing Duck too. On second thought, they should revive the Disney Afternoon.
Spark Of Spirit 02-25-2015, 07:56 PM Excellent news. Hopefully this means they'll finish releasing the original series on DVD now.
tlc38tlc38 02-26-2015, 11:35 AM This has potential to be epic if thy do it right and don't use that awful new computer 3D animation. They should use traditional 2D animation.
I'd also like to see a revival of "Gummi Bears"!
MrCleveland 02-26-2015, 02:53 PM Donald is in it...that's good!
I hope I can get this DuckTales on Netflix or Hulu!

Don't count on that...
Spark Of Spirit 03-02-2015, 07:30 PM Don't count on that...Most of Disney's animated shows are still 2D. I expect this one will be, too.

2D or 3D, I'd like to see these adventures of Scrooge and Donald!

My mistake. For some reason, I read "3D" as "CGI."
But I agree with you. No way will it be hand drawn like in the 1980s, but 2D CGI could happen.

If life is like a hurricane in Duckburg, this story arc was a Cat 5.

MrCleveland 04-27-2015, 07:56 PM I would also nominate Daryl Hammond as the voice of Scrooge McDuck for the 2017 reboot...Alan Young may be dead when the show begins. That and Hammond has a good Scottish Accent with his Sean Connery impersonation...

Disney has unveiled the first art for the new "DuckTales" series.
Huey, Dewey, Louie, Uncle Scrooge, Donald Duck, and what appears to be Webby Vanderquack are back in action, apparently outrunning spear-throwing pursuers in their latest adventure.
No exact release date has been set, but "DuckTales" is expected to arrive on Disney XD in 2017.

Funny you mention that.
Disney still wants Don Rickles (who will be 90) to do the voice of Mr. Potato Head in Toy Story 4 (set to be released in 2018), and he's fully on board with it.
MrCleveland 03-10-2016, 04:58 PM I do like the image...it's modern yet it uses the Carl Barks color scheme of Donald and Scrooge's shirts which is black and red respectfully.
Hawkee 12-11-2016, 06:10 AM During yesterday's episode of Elena Of Avalor the first ever announcement of the Ducktales revival debuted on Disney Channel and it is set to debut in January. I think Disney Channel will do a great job on the Ducktales revival. As for the replacement voice actor for Scrooge McDuck I think Craig Ferguson would do a great job because of his Scottish accent

Still not going to watch this. But the animation looks lovely though.
Hawkee 06-15-2017, 01:58 AM During Lego Star Wars The Freemaker Adventures Disney XD aired a preview of the new revival of DuckTales and based on what I saw from the preview it appears that the DuckTales cartoon is gonna use the same animation as the Mickey Mouse short cartoons and also it seems that Huey Dewey and Louie are gonna be dressed in different outfits and not the red green and blue outfits that they wore in the original DuckTales cartoon. Also I noticed that Huey Dewey and Louie have different voices and Scrooge McDuck has a different personality and voice with no Scottish accent. I think Disney will have a huge success with the DuckTales revival and Disney XD will gain a new audience of viewers to the network
But still no debut date for the DuckTales revival has been announced yet

Then "Lets get dangerous!"
Hawkee 08-13-2017, 04:50 AM I saw the revival of DuckTales on Disney XD Saturday Morning and I can say it is a disappointment and I don't know why Disney XD chose to revive this show. For one thing why did they change the voices of Huey Dewey and Louie because when I watched it I thought the voices of Huey Dewey and Louie sounded kind of weird like teenagers and I remember in the original 1987 DuckTales that Russi Taylor gave the nephews wonderful and cute voices that made DuckTales so cool to watch. Second thing I noticed about this revival is that I think Disney tried to give this version of DuckTales a classic look because it seemed like it was drawn like a comic book from the 40's and I thought it looked realistic. I also noticed that Scrooge McDuck is given a gentlemanly personality and is wonderful and I thought it looked neat that Disney did this. While it seems to attract new fans to DuckTales I think old DuckTales fans will be disappointed by this version and Disney could've done a whole lot better with the DuckTales revival

P.S. Scrooge McDuck's voice in this new version of DuckTales is provided by David Tennant and he does an awesome job bringing Scrooge McDuck to life
Mario500 08-15-2017, 09:12 AM Even though I do not have any interest in watching this program (I did not like the idea of a new "DuckTales" program and would rather watch the original one since I had always liked it since the first half of the decade known as the 1990s) I had noticed some comments in which the characters named Huey, Dewey, and Louie were referenced as "the triplets" since I had never seen or heard such a reference to them before I started learning about this program.
