Speeding up TV reruns, which is accomplished by removing repetitive video frames, has actually been done for decades, says The Wall Street Journal, which notes that the practice has become more prevalent in recent years. "It feels wrong," Friends co-creator Marta Kaufman says of the sped-up episodes. "It is not how it was shot, written or imagined. It wasn't meant to be that way, so don't make it that way."

Tell them Marta. Or how about when on TBS when they squeeze the Friends opening and its not even from the right season? Or how about when you finish watching one show as soon as it ends the next show pops right up. Cant they at least wait for the credits to roll.

Well, the residuals are pretty big from the shows. They gotta be paid for somehow.

Another thing that gets me upset is when the film is slowed down, I don't know how this even makes sense but I've seen it done on AMC especially when they've aired the 1984 version of The Karate Kid which is 2hr 6min. sandwiched in a 3 hour block.
