I just finished watching the entire series on DVD and I noticed something...
In season one, the Headmaster was Mr. Bradley. He was a cast member and appeared in all 13 episodes.
In season two, the Headmaster was Mr. Harris. I believe he only appeared once. There was no mention of Mr. Bradley, however.
In seasons three through five, the Headmaster was Mr. Parker. He was a semi-regular on the show. In a season three episode, Mr. Parker had mentioned "last year" implying that he was there then.
In the final episode, when the show was going back to Eastland for the 2-part finale, the retiring Headmaster was named Mr. Moorehead, who mentioned being there for 25 years.
