Both are usually considered the two big "golden eras" in SNL history: 1975-80 of course, being the original, "Not Ready for Primetime Players" period while 1986-93 (subdivided by the "overpopulation" period of 1990-92 and the "Bad Boys" (the Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Chris Rock crew) era) was the "Phil Hartman, Dana Carvey, Kevin Nealon, Nora Dunn, Jan Hooks, Victoria Jackson, Julia Sweeney, Jon Lovitz, Dennis Miller, Mike Myers" period.

Both were good, I will say the 1986-1993 era of SNL is superior

i still like 1975 1980 over 86/93 while we all owe the 86/93 cast a big thank you for putting the show back on the map again for some reason at leasr for me i just find that the 75/80 era holds up quite well while alot of the 86/93 stuff seems silly and outdated
