To me it's not the funniest show in the world, but it's nice to have on in the background while I'm doing something else.

Watching the cast is like hanging out with a bunch of good friends. You may not always sit there attentively staring at your friend while they're talking....you may not even totally listen to everything they say, but you're glad they're around.

That's how I feel about the show. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing that this show isn't the kind that makes me want to drop everything and follow every scene closely and attentively. It's just comfortable background sound, sometimes amusing.

That's not a bad thing to me, that's just my opinion. I think you can like a sitcom without rolling on the floor laughing at every scene.

No disagreement, although I think I find the show more worthy of active watching as well. I am glad to have this show and the other dozens of classics available on DVD for on-demand viewing or, like you, to have on in the background.

This show is pretty good . It's worth actively watching it . Bob Newhart has a charming sense of humor that makes me like this show! This and Newhart are 2 Tv shows I love!
