You know what I hate......... It's that flashing on screen that you see when looking at a TV program. An example of this is, I was looking at NYPD blue this evening and all they did is flash from one person to another to another to another in a matter of seconds. I hate it. Grrrr..... If you turn off the sound on your TV you can see the flashing go even faster. (?) No wonder I never look at these shows.......Why can't they bring back old fashion TV viewing? :bash: :livid: :smash: :bash: :angryfire

I HATE that!!! They do that in Soaps too.

Another thing that irks me- In comedies, the lighting is so bright and cheery. In Dramas, the set is always so dark. Odd.

I noticed the lighting thing when I was watching the West Wing and it was really dark.

I don't like the flashing screens either. I also hate the revolving camera, where the camera moves in a dizzying circle around the characters. I just want the camera to hold still. Both of these techniques give me a headache.

The reason dramas are darker then sitcoms is cos lighting in TV and movies is used to reflect the mood of a scene. Don't you think it'd be a bit odd if you're watching a drama, a character has just died and yet the scene is all bright and cheery? Similarly, wouldn't it be stupid to make a lighthearted, sitcom seem all dark and gloomy?
Things like lighting, tone and music in a TV show or movie have to reflect the action onscreen otherwise it'd just look stupid.

Well for me I just find them too dark. I'm a baby boomer so the dark lighting is starting to get to me. I like brightness! DO YOU HEAR TVLAND???????
