View Full Version : My Dad Threatened To Evict Me Outta His House

My dad is mad at me for quitting my full time job yesterday that I just started because I didn't like working outside all day. I shouldn't have taken the job in the first place because when I called my boss on Friday, he didn't answer the phone. If he had answered the phone and he would've told me what I was gonna be doing, I wouldn't have taken the job. I didn't get in touch with him until Sunday and that's when he told me I was gonna be working outside most of the day because there's not much to do inside the building. So when I told my dad at the end of the job that I had quit, he threatened to evict me outta him and my mom's house at the end of this month if I don't pay him back $300 I owe him for helping me pay for car repairs. I told him if that's what you wanna do, then fine and I'm not gonna argue with you about it. I wanna be on my own anyway and i'll look into some job training programs for homeless people and look into getting section 8 housing or project housing. I'm 38 years old and I need to have my own place so I can have some privacy and be away from my angry dad who I've never gotten along with. I feel bad that I would have to leave my mom because I love her so much.

I'm also gonna schedule a appointment to see a psychiatrist and I'm gonna do that tomorrow. I sent the psychiatrist a email today that I wanna see and I'm gonna see if I'm gonna get a response. I need to find out what's wrong with me and why do I have a hard time getting and keeping a job. If I get diagnosed, I'm gonna see if I qualify to get government money because I may not be able to work anymore and that's fine. There's some unemployed and homeless people who will never have a job because they have a mental problem and they have to get government money and section 8 housing. I don't see anything wrong with that and I don't look down on people like that. I do feel bad for poor blacks who live in project housing because some of them are good people and it's unfortunate they have to be stuck living there because they can't get a job and they're getting government money. They have to be concerned about getting robbed, shot or beat up. I may end up living in project housing if I can't get section 8 housing in the suburbs. I've never lived in a bad neighborhood and if I did live there, I would be worried about my safety. I'm very scared of being homeless because I've never been in that situation and living on the streets is scary. I want ya'll to keep me in your prayers and i'll keep ya'll updated on what's happening with me.

Then on top of all this, I owe $2,500 on my credit card. I'm lucky I'm able to make payments because of my part time job. If i keep having car trouble, I'm gonna end up losing my car and not being able to make credit card payments. Then i'll get constantly harassed by the credit card company until they get some money and they'll threaten to have me locked up because I've had that told to me before when I used to have a bunch of credit cards when I lived in Cleveland. I wasn't able to make payments because I couldn't keep a job. That's why I had to move back to Maryland and I didn't wanna come back here because I don't like my dad. I should've gotten help from a psychiatrist when I was in Cleveland because I should've figured out that something was wrong with me trying to keep a job and I would still be there. But honestly I'm glad I moved back here because I really like Virginia and Maryland but it's too expensive to live on my own. I might possibly move back to Cleveland if I don't get government money and housing. I do have a few relatives in Cleveland like my mom's brother and sister I could live with if things don't work out here.

I surely will have you in my prayers. I'm sorry to hear all this! Hoping things work out for you! Maybe your Dad just said that out of anger and when he calms down he will reconsider what he said. But you two never really got along, so it would be better if you could get some assistance and move out. Even if you don't live at your parents anymore, there is no reason you still can't see your Mom. You could see her outside the house or something. Or come over to visit if your Dad isn't home or something.

About the credit cards. There is NO WAY they can lock you up for unpaid credit card bills! They are bill collectors calling you. They are trying to scare a person into paying is all. If you don't have the money , what can you do? It's not a criminal offense and they can not lock you up or arrest you in any way for that!

Again, my prayers to you and good luck, I.T.

Thanks. Credit card company may not be able to have me locked up but they can garnish my wages when I get a job. If i become homeless, i'm gonna look into bill consolidation so I can pay a small amount on my credit card bill instead of paying what they want me to pay every month.

Agreed. You are even able to cancel the debt on some credit cards without filing for bankruptcy. You would then have to claim the amount of cancelled debt as income on your taxes the following year, but you would not necessarily have to repay it.

I called a psychiatrist's office today to have a appointment scheduled so I can get tested. The lady I talked to said she's gonna have a psychiatrist's office that specializes in testing gimme a call today to schedule a appointment. I told the lady that my living situation is really bad because I don't have a full time job and I'm not getting unemployment money. So I need to get tested and see if I can be diagnosed so I can get government money from social services. Then I'm gonna check into trying to get SSDI money which is gonna be hard to get. If I can't get that, I'm gonna have to get government money from somewhere because I don't think i'll work a full time job anymore. My work history is sporadic and that's not good when you're looking for a job because when employers see that you haven't been able to stay at jobs for a long time, they don't wanna take a chance on hiring you. I had the same problem when I lived in Cleveland because I wasn't able to keep a job and that's why I was forced to move back to Maryland with my parents. I should've seeked help from a psychiatrist and gotten tested in Cleveland but I didn't think that there was anything wrong with me.

I haven't gotten a call yet from a psychiatrist. So I'm gonna call them tomorrow because I need to talk to somebody now. I'm tired of waiting to talk to somebody because my living situation isn't good and I need some money now. If I have anymore car problems, I'm gonna have to let my car go and I don't have any money to buy another car. I need a car to find a job because without a car, I'm not gonna find a job. I have a hard time finding a job with a car. But if I have a car, I have a better chance of finding a job than riding the bus looking for a job.

What if the psychiatrist diagnoses you with some sort of mental illness? The doctor would most likely prescribe you with some sort of anti-psychotic drugs or anti-depressants. Are you willing to go on medication?

Wawwie, I'm not willing to take medication because I need money. Medication isn't gonna help me to get a job. Last time i went to a psychiatrist, he suggested that i take some medication and i stopped going to him. I got a call today from a psychiatrist's office and I got a appointment for Friday. So I'm gonna see how that goes and I wanna get tested to see if I have a learning disability. If I get diagnosed for having a disability, then I'm gonna look at getting government money because I may not work a full time job again. I also have some paperwork from social services to give to the psychiatrist to fill out so I can get money from social services until I can try to get SSDI money.

Furienna the world has gone mad and even sane Scandinavia is not averse to the ill effects of bad employers. I would like to know the story behind the guy in McDonalds who threw a tantrum. It's really none of our business on a public forum what medication Isiah Thomas or any other member for that matter takes.

I don't mind answering your question about whether or not I would take medication. The answer is i don't wanna take medication. I'm sure employers wouldn't ask me at a job interview about whether or not I take medication. What I'm saying is if a psychiatrist suggests to me that I should take medication, I'm gonna say no because that's not gonna help me get money. What I'm gonna tell the psychiatrist is that I need to get tested to see if I have a learning disability. If the psychiatrist says that I can get tested and if the test says that I have a mental disability, then I'm gonna look at getting money from social services. Then I will apply for SSDI money which may take me awhile to get because I'm gonna need government money to live if I'm not able to work a full time job anymore.

I'm also gonna apply for section 8 housing in the suburbs because I don't wanna be in a situation where my parents die before me and I have nowhere to live. I don't wanna live in the projects because it's not safe to live there. Too many ignorant black men live in the projects and I know if I lived there that they would bother me all the time and try to fight me or kill me.

Okay, I see now that I misunderstood you. But speaking from personal experience, medication can help you handle depression and other psychological problems. And if you feel better, it will become easier for you get a job and keep it. So I say that if a psychiatrist wants to prescribe you medication, that will probably help you a lot, just as much as getting a diagnosis will.

I seriously doubt that taking pills will help me to get a job and keep it. Like I said, I wanna get tested to see if I can be diagnosed. No job is gonna hire me if I tell them I have a mental problem and I'm taking pills to help me feel better. I got a better chance of getting government money than getting a job. My work history is sporadic and when employers see that, they aren't gonna hire me anyway. I have limited job skills and cleaning is the only job I'm good at because it's the only job I've kept for a long time in the past. I'm afraid to apply for jobs that pay good and that's a problem. So that's why I need to find out from a mental health professional what's my problem and I should've did this a long time ago when I was in Cleveland because I had the same problem there which was I couldn't keep a job for a long time. That's why I was forced to move back to Maryland with my parents.

True, medication can be very costly. And often, with medication, there are usually nasty side effects. If you don't have medical coverage, you wouldn't want to be shelling out money for expensive medications anyway.
I'm hoping you will land on your feet somehow and that you can get the government assistance that you seem to need.

She is right IT!! From what I know about SSI , it is because of a mental disability , learning disability etc. Something that is keeping a person unable to work other than a physical disability. So they will do a full evaluation, because not you , but a lot of people do abuse the system and just don't want to work! So they have to rule that out first off. A shame for people who are honest like yourself and really could use it, that others make it difficult because of fraud.

With that said , after your evaluation, if they feel you need the medication, don't turn it away. Do WHATEVER they tell you to do. Your chances of getting excepted would be greater. In your case they certainly wouldn't give you anything too strong. Your not schizophrenic or psychotic or anything. They might find you are depressed and under anxiety and give you something mild for that and maybe it would make you feel better. And that WOULD be along with the money. That's how it works, most people on SSI are on medication too!

If you feel the medication isn't right for you or it makes you feel worse, don't take it , but have them think you do. Just DON'T turn it down when they give it to you, the last thing you want to do is look like you are just there for the money! You need to make them see the truth that you would love to work if you could, if the economy was better and their was suitable work that you could do, but there isn't and you don't want to be homeless and all this has gotten you very depressed and anxious and the situation with your Father being bad too, They will take that into account and help you get your Section 8 too! Good luck! :)

Bonniegirl62, thanks for the advice. I really do hope I get government assistance because I need it badly because I'm probably gonna be without a full time job for a long time. I definitely will need government money because if I have anymore car problems, I'm gonna need the money to pay for repairs. I can't keep asking my dad for money to pay for repairs because he's already given me $300 for that and I haven't paid him back. If I don't have a car, I'm definitely not gonna get a job. I went to see a white woman mental health specialist today and she asked me a lot of questions. Then I talked about the issues I'm having and she said she's gonna have me see another woman who's a psychiatrist and she will be able to diagnose me.

My next appointment is gonna be March 3rd which is on a Tuesday. So I guess if this psychiatrist diagnoses me, she'll probably gimme medication and i'll probably be able to get government money. The white woman I talked to today said I'm gonna have a appointment once a week with a psychiatrist just to see how things are going with me and if any changes have been made. I was glad the white woman I talked to today told me I don't have to pay for my visits and the health insurance company is gonna take care of the payment. Wawwie, my dad hasn't been bothering me that much lately and I hope he wasn't serious about putting me out at the end of this month. He knows i'm not gonna pay him back soon for the money he's loaned me for car repairs. I'm gonna get my income taxes done next weekend and hopefully i'll get back enough money so I can pay him back. I'm still gonna keep looking for a job and the only way i'll stop looking for a job is if the psychiatrist tells me that I should stop because I'm not able to have a full time job because I have a mental problem.

Does your dad have any input on your psychiatric appointments?

isiahthomas
02-14-2015, 04:31 PM
My dad isn't gonna be coming with me to my psychiatrist appointments and I don't want him there anyway because he would be saying some negative things about me. I told him and my mom today about my appointment yesterday and he said so if you were to get government assistance, you would be alright with that? I said yeah because I have no choice. If I can't work a full time job, I'm gonna have to get government money. He said I bet if you were to get government money from social services, it's not gonna be that much and I said so what. I said I need a extra income because the money I get from my part time job isn't enough to take care of myself. If the psychiatrist diagnoses me and tells me I have a mental problem and I'm not able to get a full time job, I'm gonna look at applying for SSI money. Then I'm gonna apply for section 8 housing in the suburbs so I can get away from my dad because I'm sick of his negativity and I'm sick of him telling me how I should live.

He got into a argument with me today talking about you haven't paid rent in 6-7 months and you owe me $400 for money I loaned you for car repairs. Then he keeps talking about I need to wear different clothes and read some educational books that would help me get a job. I keep telling him wearing different clothes to a job isn't gonna help me get a job because I have a sporadic work history and when employers see that, they aren't gonna hire me anyway. No employer will hire people that have a terrible work history like I do because employers wanna see consistency on people's resumes. Employers wanna see that people have stayed with jobs for a long time and I've lost several jobs that I haven't stayed at for a long time because of my mental problem. I've never been good at figuring things out on the job so I can keep a job.

That's why I decided to see a psychiatrist to find out what's wrong. I said to my dad today that he acts like it's such a bad thing if I would have to get government assistance for the rest of my life and he said I never said that's a bad thing. Yeah right. My dad thinks if I was to get government assistance for the rest of my life that government employees would be treating me different and trying to get in my business about how I'm living because I'm dependent on the government to survive. I don't have a problem with that. The only thing I'm worried about is living in public housing because I don't wanna live around ignorant black men because I know I wouldn't live long. They like starting trouble with good black men for no reason and I've been a victim of that several times and I hate it. That's why I didn't like the black high school I went to and I quit a few jobs because of ignorant black men. I really hope I get section 8 housing in the suburbs. I'm waiting on Maryland's housing authority to open up the listing for people to apply for section 8 housing. I'm also gonna apply for section 8 housing with Virginia housing authority soon.

Wawwie
02-14-2015, 06:58 PM
^ I guess I know what you mean about ignorant blacks in certain high schools. Although there are also many ignorant whites, my cousin had to deal with a lot of ignorant blacks in high school since her high school was mostly black. She got beat up in the girl's bathroom for a ring and then a few days later, she found the girl who stole her ring and held her head down in the toilet bowl. Needless to say, they both got suspended.
I don't blame you for not wanting your dad at your doctor's appointments. Those sessions with your psychiatrist are private.
I think your dad might mean well. I'm sure he wants the best for you, but I do understand your frustration with him. It is your life and if government assistance works for you, he should support you.

Wawwie, my dad really isn't a good person. He's been tough on me my whole life and that's why i got away from him when i graduated from high school and i moved to Cleveland to live with my mom's parents. He's always yelled and cursed at me when i make him mad and i'm sick of that. I'm gonna try to move outta my parents house as soon as i get government assistance because i'm gonna ask the psychiatrist if she can help me get section 8 housing and if she can't help, then i'll ask her what should i do to get section 8 housing. I wanna be away from my dad so i can have some privacy and some peace. I'll never have that living with him. I feel bad for my mom because she's a good person and she shouldn't be with him anymore. She's tired of his anger also and it's sad that he won't seek help from a psychiatrist because he has a serious anger problem that he doesn't wanna admit. It's funny to me that he'll tell me i got some serious issues but he can't even recognize he has a serious anger problem.

I'm so sorry to hear that you don't get along with your dad. It really is a shame.
I know someone who got section 8 housing, but I think most of it has to do with the fact that she is very elderly. She's my sister in law's aunt. I'm not sure how she got it, but I could ask.

02-16-2015, 06:50 PM
Wawwie, poor people can get section 8 housing. You don't have to be old to get that. Yeah my mom is still married to my dad and they've been married for 38 years. When i go see a psychiatrist at my next appointment, i'm gonna ask if she can help me get section 8 housing. I called Virginia housing authority today and i left a message asking them about where is my name on the waiting list for low income housing. I gave them my phone number. I'm gonna call them again tomorrow to see if i can get some information because i wanna be on my own now. I'm tired of living with my parents and i wanna be by myself so i can have some privacy and be able to do what i want and have a woman come over my place. I haven't been lucky with women because i've never been popular with women anyway. So i don't want my own place just so i can have a woman come over because i can do without a woman. I've been single for 12 years and it doesn't bother me because i know a lot of women are stuck up and are golddiggers hahahahahahahahahaha.

I just hope that when the day comes for me to get my own place that i'm not living in the projects because i don't wanna live around ignorant black men. Too much crime goes on in the projects and i don't wanna be around that because i'm a good person. So i hope that i can get a place in the suburbs at a apartment or a house.

I'm tired of my dad and I wanna be away from him and have some privacy. I get tired of arguing with him and him trying to tell me how to live. He had the nerve to tell me that i'm not ready to be on my own. When am I gonna be ready? When i'm 50 or 60 years old? Gimme a break. It's not his decision to make about me being on my own. I've lived with him and my mom for 12 years and I wanna leave now. I'm tired of him being in my business and I can't bring any women to the house because my dad doesn't trust anybody. My psychiatrist said she's gonna try to help me get my own place and I told her i'm gonna bring a booklet next week from Virginia housing authority because they have a program for helping special needs people who have a disability get their own place sooner than later. I would like to stay in Maryland and be not too far from where my parents live because I like the area they live in and I do grocery shopping, go to the bank and the video store in the area.

It's time for me to leave my parents house because if I don't leave now, i'm gonna be stuck there until they die and I don't wanna be in that situation. If I was stuck living there until they die, I don't know where I would live and I don't wanna be homeless. I'm sure they aren't gonna leave the house in my name and I don't wanna live in that house anyway because we live at the bottom of the hill. When it snows bad, it's hard for me to drive my car up the hill because i don't have all wheel drive. I do like my parents house but i don't like the street we live on because i wish we lived up the hill so it would be easy for me to get outta my neighborhood in the winter when i need to go somewhere.

Where do you live? Are you living with someone or at a homeless shelter? I really hate my dad and I've hated him my whole life. That's why i wanna move outta his house. Do you hate your dad?

You talking to me? If you are, no I haven't found my own place. My psychiatrist said she's gonna help me find a place to live and I hope it's not in the projects because I don't wanna live around ignorant black men. There's too much crime in the projects and it's not safe.

Unfortunately, when you don not have money in this country you are doomed to live amongst poor people which are usually black and hispanic people in the ghetto or the projects. Most of these people are generally good people but unfortunately it's the bad ones that do the most damage to the majority. Avoid the projects and the ghetto at any cost - just like you would avoid incarceration. No good can come of it.

Since we live in a small town, we don't really have a ghetto or projects. But before my sister met her husband, she rented an apartment in a neighborhood, which is roughly a ghetto or project in miniature. Because it seems like the only people, who have to live there, are immigrants from the Middle East or single people with a low income. But my sister was totally okay as long as she stayed indoors in her apartment, which was perfectly fine by the way, even if the kitchen was painfully small. But she did have some weird neighbors, who she did everything to avoid...

I agree Cleverfun3000. It's only a matter of time that I'm gonna end up without a car and homeless. It's bad enough I don't have a full time job and I know I'm gonna be without a car sooner than later because I don't like the way my car is driving. I don't have any money to get it fixed and that's why I'm trying to get government assistance from my psychiatrist. Next appointment I go to for my psychiatrist, I'm gonna give her the paperwork to fill out from social services. I did see a psychiatrist yesterday and I thought she was a therapist. So that's why I didn't bring my paperwork with me. I talked to my therapist today who I have a appointment with tomorrow and i was telling her my frustration about being without a full time job and my car sounding like it's about to fall apart. I told her if i don't have a car, I'm not gonna find a job. I have a better chance of finding a job with a car than being without a car.

I told her that money would solve my problems and i need government assistance now since i can't get a job. My dad complained to me that i haven't paid him and my mom rent in 6-7 months and i don't wanna hear that because i don't like the fact that i can't pay rent. He complained to me that i owe him $300 because he helped me out with paying for car repairs and i don't wanna borrow money from him or anybody else. It's gonna take me a long time to pay him back and i don't like that. I hate this world and it sucks being poor, homeless and unemployed because rich people don't care about poor people.

It's hard to have faith when no jobs want to hire me and it sucks being without money. Hopefully i can get government assistance from social services when i see a psychiatrist on Tuesday because i have some papers for her to fill out from social services. If she doesn't fill them out, i'll find another psychiatrist that will fill out my papers or i'll get a doctor to do it. I can't get money from social services unless a psychiatrist or a doctor fills out the papers. I bet if i was homeless, i could get government assistance. I really hate this damn world because the government doesn't give a sh*t about helping poor men. The government will help poor women faster than poor men because they get money and housing quicker than men especially if they got kids.

I've been seeing a therapist for a month and I have to continue seeing her until she's ready to sign my papers for government assistance from social services. I guess i'll be getting government assistance before the end of the year because it looks like I'm gonna be without a full time job for a long time. I get so mad when looking for a job on the internet because I don't have a lot of job skills. When I do email jobs that I'm interested in, they don't respond and that pisses me off. But white men job supervisors say black men are lazy and don't wanna work which is bullsh*t. I'm not lazy and I want a job. I worked 2 jobs for a long time before I was laid off from my full time job and most black men haven't done that. I also hope that I get housing one day and I tried to apply for low income housing recently. I found out that the waiting lists for Virginia and Maryland housing authorities are temporarily closed which made me mad. They don't know when the waiting lists are gonna open.

I'm sad to hear that you still have these problems. But I guess you just have to stick with your therapist until she has sorted things out for you. But I thought you had a part time job? Then I think people would see that you're not lazy?

I still have a part time job, thank God. I could care less if people think i'm lazy and i'm trying to take advantage of the government which isn't true. I would rather work than get a government check. But the reality is i may have to get government money for the rest of my life because i may never work a full time job again. It doesn't seem any jobs are interested in me and i'm tired of looking for a job. This is the 2nd time that i've been without a full time job for awhile because i was without one when i lived in Cleveland. I was forced to move back to Maryland because i didn't have a job in Cleveland in 2002. I texted my therapist yesterday to ask her how many more times do i need to see her for her to fill out papers from social services so i can get government assistance and she didn't respond. I guess she'll tell me when i go to my next appointment which is Tuesday.

I have to see a doctor on Monday to take a EKG test to see if my heart is ok. I went to the doctor this past Monday and he told me my blood pressure is a little high but he said my health is above average. I was glad to hear that but i'm concerned about my blood pressure. I also had some blood taken this past Monday when i went to the doctor and i hadn't done that since i was a kid because i don't like needles.

But you said you believed that people wouldn't hire you because they thought black men were lazy? So it has to look good that you at least have a part-time job.

You don't have to worry too much about your blood pressure, as long as your heart is okay otherwise. Your doctor will probably just prescribe you some pills for it, and then you will be fine.

I went to the doctor yesterday and the doctor told me my blood pressure is still high. She said she can gimme some medication to take for it and she told me I should try changing my eating habits. She said don't eat a lot of salt and I told her I never eat salt. I don't eat fast food often but I'm gonna stop eating French fries when I go to McDonald's and Wendy's because they put too much salt on them. I'm also gonna stop eating ice cream and start drinking water because I drink a lot of fruit punch and lemonade. The doctor told me that if my blood pressure doesn't go down, later on I could eventually start to lose my eye sight and have other health issues that could cause me to die sooner than later. I was scared when she told me that because I don't wanna lose my eye sight. I did pick up the medication from CVS pharmacy today that she prescribed for me and I have to see her in 2 weeks so she can do a EKG test to see how my heart is.

I wish my car would stop giving me problems because I'm tired of asking my dad for money to get it fixed. My brake switch needs to be fixed because my automatic lever that makes me put my car in park, reverse and drive doesn't move sometimes and I have to jerk it a few times to get it to work. I asked my dad for money yesterday to get it fixed and he gave me some money. I need to get this fixed now because if I can't put my car in drive, then I can't go anywhere and I need my car so I can find a job. So I called a mechanic today and I'm waiting for him to get back with me to let me know if he can fix it today because I need it done now. I don't wanna wait until the weekend to get it done because I have a appointment with a therapist on Thursday.

I got my income taxes done last Sunday and i'll be getting my check in 3 weeks. When I get my check, I'm also gonna get a car battery and get my car locks fixed because the car locks have been unlocking and locking on their own because a fuse is blown. I'm getting really tired of spending money on fixing my car and I wish I had a lot of money saved so I could buy a newer car. But I need this car because if I don't have a car, I'm not gonna find a job. I wonder how many appointments I have to go to to talk to a therapist so I can get government assistance because I need government assistance now. I hope I get it by the end of the summer because I don't believe i'll get it before then.

Maybe you can try sugar free products? I know a lot of people hate them, but I don't feel any difference. If you think about how much sugar you eat and don't eat that much salt, I think you can treat yourself with some fries at McDonalds.

I'm not eating French fries anymore because like I said, McDonald's and Wendy's put too much salt on them. I do eat Jolly Ranchers candy but I only eat that just to snack on while I'm at work because I don't get off until 10pm and the last time I eat is in the afternoon. So I eat candy so my stomach won't be growling and hurting while I'm at work.

NO!!! McDonald's French fries are TOXIC!!! They actually use the same chemical that is used to repair aquarium fish tanks... the same as silly putty. Horrible stuff.

Honey , I think a lot of the reason for your high blood pressure is stress!!!! I have high blood pressure too. I just developed it not too long ago. I'm older and got a bit heavier! One of the main things the doctor told me is to try to relax, among with healthier diet/exercise !! Stress causes the blood pressure to go sky high! I think because of all you are going through, and your father not making things any better by his comments and the way he treats you is a lot to do with it. When this all gets worked out and you are able to get the housing and SSI things will be better!

Of course you do have to watch salt intake and sugar too. Everyone does. That is a big factor with me, since I developed the high blood pressure with age and weight gain. Two things I was told to eat that are good for you are Cheerios and oatmeal for lowering cholesterol and blood pressure, but again with you because of your age I think yours is more stress related. So take the meds, and say prayers and hoping all turns out well for you. And the BP meds can cause side affects. Don't give up on them. Usually the side affects will go away after your body gets used to them, or if they have to regulate the dosage or put you on another kind. Good luck to you!!

Thanks Bonniegirl62. I hope I do get SSI because I need money now. I'm gonna apply for SSI later because I wanna see if I can get government assistance from social services. My car is giving me problems and I need money to keep it running because if I don't have money, I'm gonna be without a car and I won't be able to find a job. I get so tired of looking for a job and I get pissed off when I email jobs and they don't respond. I hope I get government assistance by the end of the summer because I have to wait for my therapist to let me know when she's gonna fill out my papers from social services so I can get government assistance. I hope she won't take too long to let me know when she can fill out my papers. I went to CVS pharmacy today and I used their blood pressure machine to see what my blood pressure is and it was 140/85 which is a little better than what it was before when I went to the doctor this past Monday. When I go to the grocery store tomorrow, I'm not gonna buy ice cream and fruit punch and lemonade like I've been doing in the past. I'm gonna start drinking water more and hopefully my blood pressure will go down.

I wonder about that too and I might have to agree with Bonniegirl62 when she said she thinks I have stress. That could be the problem because I've been unemployed since June of last year and I'm upset about not having a full time job. My car keeps giving me problems and I gotta ask my dad for money to get the car fixed because I have no money saved. I don't like asking him for money. He was talking to me today before I left home telling me that my money situation is pitiful because I'm almost 39 years old and I have no job skills except cleaning. He said he thinks my situation is gonna get worse because I owe Virginia employment office $500 and he thinks the money I owe them is gonna get garnished from my income tax money which isn't true. He thinks they're gonna charge me interest if I don't pay them on time. If that was the case, the guy who did my income taxes would've told my money would get garnished. I do know that if I don't get a job by the time the summer is over and if I don't get government assistance by the end of the summer, I'm gonna get very upset. I may never get a full time job. I've been looking for a cleaning job in Cleveland on Craigslist and I sent a couple of jobs some emails and they didn't respond.

I'm so sick of these b*tch ass racist white men supervisors who make these ignorant comments about black men are lazy and they don't wanna work. You got good black men like me who want a job and don't wanna be a drug dealer, rapper, NBA or NFL player and don't wanna be on welfare and I get ignored by them. But yet they say black men are unemployed because they're lazy. They don't wanna admit that they don't wanna hire black men and they prefer Hispanic men and African men because they can hire them for low pay and don't give them health and dental insurance because that would save them a lot of money. They know black men aren't gonna work for low pay and they want health and dental insurance.

It's no wonder at all why you never get hired.
You have a VERY negative attitude that's going to get you nowhere in life.
I sure as hell wouldn't want you working for me.
Your negativity would only bring down the morale of other employees.
I don't think all black people are "lazy." That's ridiculous. Sounds like you are just looking for excuses to remain negative. It also sounds like you are the one with the problem. So stop trying to blame an entire race for your troubles. It's sad. You are sad.

Thanks Dude111. Wawwie, how do you explain that I've emailed a lot of jobs and I haven't gotten a lot of responses? Are you saying that's my fault? You say I shouldn't blame white men supervisors for ignoring my emails. So who am I to blame? Then if I get government money, I'm gonna be called lazy by white men who think I don't wanna work when they refuse to respond to my emails. That's the typical answer white men give when they talk about unemployed black men who get government money and live in the projects. They can't afford to move to the suburbs because they don't have jobs.
