On some program at the time, a man explained that she instructed the photographers to look in the opposite direction and only turn to take a picture when she made a sound. He figured she had a way of yanking the cord while they weren't looking so by the time they looked they saw the phone flying. Presumably the story about the eggs squeezing through a closed refrigerator door was fake! :crazy:

She's a con artist. I remember this story from years back.

She was also convicted of murder.

Her story is fairly typical of these cases-a disturbed child/teen with emotional issues looking for attention & some pretty credulous people wanting to believe it. If there had actually been some kind of intervention & help for her maybe things would have turned out better for her down the line.

As soon as any scientific investigators turn up & put controls on the situation nothing happens, or as in this case they are turned away. The biggest mystery is why only photos were taken & no film recording-in 1984 quality video recording equipment was well established & it is much harder to fake/fool that than still photos.

We had a similar case over here in the late 1970's called The Enfield Poltergeist-well worth googling it.

One thing that sickens me is that her boyfriend, the one who actually killed her daughter (and did other disgusting things I won't mention), is out of prison and didn't serve very much time. This makes very little sense to me. So Tina is still in jail (being found culpable), but her boyfriend isn't? How screwed up is that? Anyone capable of doing what he did shouldn't be walking the streets.

Forgive me for sounding crass, but any mother who knows that her child is being beaten and does absolutely nothing to stop it deserves what she gets.

Oh, I agree with you. I just think he should still be in jail, too.

I think what stood against her were the old injuries-she admitted to not reporting heavy bruising as she feared the kid would be taken away from her. So it looked like she was condoning the abuse & he said she took part in the beatings as well.

Tina has a parole hearing very soon and IIRC has a volunteer to take her in if she is allowed out.

I hope she gets out. She seemed to be forced into a deal just to avoid the death penalty-despite the fact very few women ever actually get executed.
