Has anyone seen Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrute) new show, Backstrom? He plays a police detective solving crimes with a supporting cast.

Out of 10, I give it a 6, or barely passing.

Positive.

I like Rainn Wilson, and his character was pretty good. I was hoping for a little bit of Dwight Schrute, and this character has flashes of Dwight. Sort of mix Dwight, Dr. House, with the great eye of detail of Adrian Monk. He is a "loose cannon" type of guy who likes to drink alcohol and smoke cigars. I liked the doctor and the "beautiful" (also a negative below) woman who is his partner who keeps an eye on him.

Negative.

This formula has been done to death the last 50 years. I would think these shows are really easy to write for. Just ripoff a police procedural/detective show.

The excess of what I call "beautiful people". In this realm, the Universe is thin, white usually, beautiful and under 35. This is why I usually shy away from these shows. Hard to put a finger on it.

I hope the stories get better, because this story was sort of a dud to me and somewhat hard to follow.

My wish for this show is more humor, have a mix of comedy and drama. I think the show is going for a Columbo series. But like I said, these things are done to death in my opinion. But since my boy Rainn is in it, I will watch it again, but this does not mean I will watch a program I dont like because there is an actor I do like in it, my example is James Spader's new show.

But I am on the fence on the show and hopes it finds it's feet.

I liked it, I think there are tweaks that could be made, but overall I think it has potential. The character is interesting.
