ANOLA, Miss. -- The reward for information about whoever burned a 19-year-old woman is nearing $18,000, and authorities say they are narrowing the list of people who might know something about the case.

Jessica Chambers, who was doused with a flammable liquid and set on fire, was found walking from her blazing car on Dec. 6 shortly before she died. She had been burned over 98 percent of her body.

was she specifically targetted or was this a random act?

Investigators examined surveillance video of Chambers visiting a nearby gas station the night she was killed. The footage shows Chambers walking toward the gas station before being called away by someone out of the camera's view. The video was recorded about 90 minutes before Chambers was found burned alive on a road less than a mile away from the gas station.

so 90 minutes later, and just 1 mile away from the gas station and video she was 98% burned, and burned down her throat.


I find it surprising that she was just 1 mile away from a gas station with video camera, and no one saw anything, except her killer (s).

The federal funds bring to $43,000 the total amount being offered for information leading to the person who killed 19-year-old Jessica Chambers, who was found alive, but badly burned and staggering along the side of a Panola County road on Dec. 6. Investigators remain baffled, but Panola County District Attorney John Champion said he hopes the money might yield more clues in the murder.

While that is true, some people have suicided in incredibly odd ways. There have been several car related self decapitations in recent years. Self-immolation does tend to be more of a political suicide though.

thus far no one has come forward despite $50k reward. 90 minutes and 1 mile away. it's hard to tell if there was anyone in the car with her when she drove away from the gas station.

Ali Fadhel, a clerk at the convenience store/gas station Jessica Chambers frequented, told police the teen was a frequent visitor and they talked to each other often. She always put $5 worth of gas in her car. However, on the date of her murder, she had a $14 tab.

“I asked her, ‘Why are you putting so much gas?’ She said, ‘I’m going somewhere,'” Fadhel said. According to authorities, about half an hour later she was found along a back road with her body almost completely burned. She was barely able to talk, but reports are that she gave police information about her attacker.

The cashier says that Jessica Chambers told him she was going to make a stop before heading home and added that on her way out of the store she got a call on her cell, came back in to purchase cigarettes, and then left heading south.

the above story says about half an hour later or 30 minutes. 30 minutes vs 90 minutes is important. if it's 30 minutes then it's even less time for a perp to beat her up burn her while she was driving in her car, and then found by a witness who then called police and fire.

if that's correct, then Jessica deliberately bought more gas than usual. i think its' amazing she only pays $5 gas total usually.

if it was murder then she must have picked up her killer and allowed her killer inside her car, so it is likely she knew her killer.

if suicide then well DPJD also committed suicide so that's similar.

Very good point Necco ! :) I have only heard of self-immolation in 2 geographic regions of the world and usually connected to what you said

funny enough remember the Arab spring of 2011 ? .......it was sparked by protests over a dude who carried out self-immolation and things snowballed from there :blush:

I think Othello/OJ Simpson scenario is the most likely explanation, but as far as paranormal is concerned,

There is a TON of information about this case online, at various "underground" news sites. Apparently the theory from these sites is that she was involved with gangs, and wanted out and actually planned on writing a book about it, but someone killed her to silence her. There is the even more outlandish theory that this was done as some sort of retaliation for Michael Brown and Eric Garner. But the "unidentified" people seen in the surveillance videos seem to have been id'ed by these websites. All of them do have a connection with Jessica, and it links back up with her ex-boyfriend. If I find one of the links, I'll post it on here.

Yes. I got a "Kaitlyn Arquette" vibe when I heard about her story, too. I assumed that people know who killed her, but are afraid to come forward for obvious reasons.

I am personally suspicious of the older black dude (I believe he is in his 40's) who is dating another girl that Jessica supposedly didn't like. Both of them gave an interview to the media and they said the police told them that they thought they were involved in a "lover's quarrel" with Jessica. It is believed Jessica and this girl were "fighting over" this 40 something year old loser (and drug dealer).

I haven't read the website yet, and I'm not making any statements about Jessica, but it wouldn't surprise me to see a young girl run around with an older man if he was keeping her supplied with either drugs or money. Happens all the time.
