Family Ties Forever!

My computer is Windows Vista.
The last couple days on and off I've noticed that the noise of the fan of the computer is louder. It sounds like maybe it's having to work too hard? I have tried turning my computer off and then back on. It doesn't really help though.
Any easy suggestions to fix it? I hope it's not a serious problem. I'm not very computer savvy.

I had the same problem once and it was due to a build-up of dust. A can of air duster should do the trick and more info can be found here (http://www.nmbtc.com/nmb-component-applications/office-equipment/computer-fan-noise/index.html).

preferably you want to open the case and blow the dust OUT of the case (best to do it outside because it WILL be messy)
sometimes a BIOS update from your computer manufacturer may have an updated fan/cooling routine, but you would have to check their website
if the noise gets to be constant or starts making groaning sounds, then you will need to replace the power supply - and it is better to do it sooner rather than later; a failing power supply can take out your whole motherboard.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions.
I tried to fix the noise of the fan, but I can't. I just don't have enough vision. I'm hoping to get my mother to come over next Saturday and remove the dust and/or whatever is making the fan in the computer loud.
I did check for updates. There was one important Windows Update that I did.
