We all know the episode Pepe the burro when Beaver, Richard and Gilbert buy a burro together. Well can anyone mention the other episode when a burro is mentioned too?

Zinc2

The other episode is The Bus Ride. Beaver reads aloud to Wally the letter from Billy Payton inviting him to visit the farm in Crystal Falls. Billy writes about a few things including a 6-day-old burro. Beaver initially calls it a "bureau". Wally is puzzled by the word but in typical fashion straightens things out after realizing Beaver mispronounication.

the one where beaver is to go to Belport I think it is, to the people that brought the farm.
And Beaver gets on the wrong bus and goes back home.
(I wanted to answer too, I had not looked at the other answer yet.)

Yup you're both right, Bus Trip. Beaver has no idea what a burro is. I think Wally calls it a small donkey. Beavers plans to bring some rotten apples in his suitcase for the burro. Wally wasn't very responsible letting Beaver get on the bus himself after a rest stop.

What do Beaver, The Hero and Wally's Track Meet have in common.

Zinc2

I'd say the reference to the TV show Men of Annapolis.

Scrabjan1

I didn't realize that Men of Annapolis was mentioned in both. I was thinking of something else.

Well, on a more macro level---Beaver and Wally's behavior irritates their respective coaches and thus they are forbidden to participate in the next event. Both Ward and June are displeased but glad the boys eventually learn their lesson.

Very often in the show, personal responsibility is stressed. In Wally's Track Meet, it's front and center when Ward says to Wally, "... what you do is your own responsibility, no matter why you do it." Thanks Ward, for another good one.

Thats probably it.
I always get beaver the hero, and beaver becomes a hero mixed up.
I think I was thinking of beaver becomes a hero, where he rescues that canoe.

That's right. In both episodes the boys are not allowed to "suit up" for the next game/track meet. Wally is off the team for a week. Beaver skipped practice and Wally was caught throwing a towel. Eddie started the towel brawl and got off Scott free.

I thought there were a few daisies in Larry's bouquet for Stanley when he's sick? Also in New Neighbors we see some daisies in the bouquet for The Donaldsons.

IF the weeds Wally and Beaver are pulling at the end of 'Larry Hides Out' ARE dandelions, then I think all of the flowers you listed are mentioned or shown.

Scrabjan1
02-02-2015, 02:23 PM
I have to admit I'm not really sure...but I don't remember seeing any dandelions on the lawn. How about a carnation? I think I see Wally wearing a carnation to a dance or was that Ricky Ricardo...I thought the answer was carnation as in some outside scenes we could see dandelions.

I don't think it was such a great question as the bouquet that Chuey brings June has some flowers that look like dahlias but I don't know. Anyone know flowers?

Zinc2
02-02-2015, 11:34 PM
This was a great question to contemplate...with so many flowers throughout the show.

The prop weeds Beaver and Wally were pulling seem somewhat dandelion-like. And dandelions are a common weed...still a big IF. There probably was a dandelion in a yard or green space along the way.

The bouquet from Chuey could be dahlias. Or even chrysanthemums.

The flowers in Wally's Orchid are the most plentiful. I think I see carnations in the floral shop along with so many other varieties on display.

But, the best example of carnations is a vase of them carried into the den by June. It's right after Wally leaves the den having asked Ward for $7.50, again in Wally's Orchid.

The geranium line delivered by Whitey is hilarious. Poor Beav, a geranium is quite the contrast to a magic set.

Scrabjan1

That's what made me ask the question. When Whitey mentions a geranium in New Doctor. Hey great spelling chrysanthemums (great spell check). I think that's exactly what they are in the Chuey bouquet and the one for the Donaldsons. So if carnations are shown in Wally's Orchid I think the answer is dandelions. Marigolds are mentioned once, anyone know?

This is a misplaced episode of Leave it to beaver that you may not know about.
It has the brothers talking about a burro around 12:50

Marigolds are in The Paper Route. The close-up of them don't look especially look like marigolds though.

Scrabjan1

Right. I was surprised June would plant marigolds in the wrong season. If you planted Marigolds in April around here they wouldn't make it. They don't look like marigolds. I think the answer is dandelions. If only I had mentioned sunflowers we would have an answer. Sunflowers always scared me.

Wally's Test and Eddie's Sweater.

Scrabjan1

Correct. I'm surprised Wally accepted his apology in both episodes. In Eddie's Double Cross he asks Beaver how to make up with Wally.

New Trivia Question❓

Which president is not mentioned in any episode of LITB?

a. Abraham Lincoln
b. Eisenhower
c. Andrew Johnson
d. Teddy Roosevelt
e. George Washington
f. Kennedy
g. Buchanan

Also can you name the episode where the kids in the classroom are naming the presidents in order?

Zinc2
02-23-2015, 02:51 PM
Students recite early presidents for Mr. Willet in Farewell to Penny.

How are you handling Kennedy? Jackie Kennedy wig, Joseph Kennedy, and Joseph Kennedy's first son (who actually DIDN'T go to Washington) are all mentioned. So the name "Kennedy" is said, but I don't recall John Kennedy, the president in the mix.

Scrabjan1
02-23-2015, 09:20 PM
Notice I didn't include John just Kennedy. June asks Ward if he was looking for his Kennedy coloring book. So Kennedy is not the answer.

Zinc2
02-24-2015, 12:26 AM
I did notice that.

Eisenhower and Buchanan are the other surname only folks on the list. When mentioned on the show they are in context of being president.

Teddy Roosevelt was not mentioned.

Scrabjan1
02-24-2015, 02:49 PM
Correct the answer is Teddy Roosevelt. I realized after I posted the question that the presidents are named in Farewell To Penny up to Garfield so I threw in Buchanan, but I kept a lot off my list. Washington was mentioned in Beaver's Poster, Lincoln was mentioned at least two times, Wally mentions Andrew Johnson in Teacher Comes To Dinner and Eisenhower is mentioned in Beaver's Hero.

Speaking of presidents.....can you name a prominent LITB character's last name who shares it with a president's first name.

Also name the president whose first name is the same as an old friend of Wally's. (First name)

"...prominent LITB character's last name who shares it with a president's first name."

I like Rutherford.

Scrabjan1

After I posted the question I thought of Coach Grover (Cleveland) but he wasn't that prominent. That's why I used the word. Yes Mr. Fred Rutherford B. Hayes. And yes Chester A. Arthur. Good Job and thanks for playing.:D

When I posed my question about which prez was not mentioned on LITB I totally forgot about how Beaver reads about Jefferson in the book in the den. I also forgot how they recited the presidents up to Garfield in Farewell To Penny. Glad I never mentioned Jefferson.

New Question:

What do these living things have in common?

Mouse

Frog

Burro (practically)

Dog

Rat

Pigeons

Cat

mrbreezeet1
04-13-2015, 07:25 PM
l thought l answered this, but I don't see it.
Do you mean in the LITB show?' Right?
That they were all pets either Beaver had, or wanted as pets,
he never had his own cat.

mrbreezeet1
04-13-2015, 07:29 PM
I don't know though, he had the Monkey Stanley.
That was a Funny one.
I liked when Larry says, "Wow, a Whole Free Monkey"
And l liked when Stanley was eating the mothers club lunch Dip or something, and then swung from the light fixture, and took off.
Then when Beav had him bundled up when he was sick, June was worried about her "good towel"

pkripper001

They were all in a room, but not together at the same time,in the Cleavers house

Scrabjan1
04-14-2015, 07:19 PM
They all were brought into the Cleaver kitchen by Beaver or by themselves (Pepe, Archie the dog and Bootsy the cat). Beaver brought in a mouse, rat and frog, Ward brought in the pigeons.
