I flipped on Me TV this afternoon and The Love Boat was on. I was surprised to see both Joyce DeWitt and Richard Kline as guests in the same episode. And Richard was playing a guy who was competing with Lyle Wagner's character for a woman's affection and Richard's character wins in the end because he's the one "who knows the true meaning of love." Has anyone ever seen this?

No, but it sounds as corny as most Love Boat episodes usually are.

I remember seeing Kline somewhere else (Columbo?) but I have never seen DeWitt in anything else than Three's Company.

What was Joyce's character up to?

I saw an episode with Sherman Hemsley and it was lame, I understand TV shows had a different mindset back then but why was this show hour long? a half hour would have sufficed.

I just watched this Love Boat ep on YouTube. Joyce plays "Jackie Landers," a celebrity with a special-needs child. She's trying to shield him from paparazzi who she thinks will make fun of him in their magazine.

I don't disagree that the show was corny. All the years the show was on the air I hated it and never got its popularity. That said, a few days earlier, there was also an episode with Audra Lindley. (FYI, I just happened to turn on MeTV while these Love Boat episodes were on; I wsas not looking for it.) And besides these episodes with Joyce DeWitt, Richard Kline and Audra Lindley, at one time or another John Ritter, Norman Fell, Don Knotts, Suzanne Somers, Priscilla Barnes, and Jenilee Harrison also all appeared on The Love Boat.

So basically everybody but Anne Wedgeworth made a guest appearance on the show.

Yeah I noticed that the other day after Mary Tyler Moore was on. I switched over to watch Green Acres on Antenna though! :)

Hi LittleRicky how are you? Haven't seen you on board lately! Always a pleasure to post with you! :)

It sure seems that way! If she had lasted longer on Three's Company, I'm sure she would have found her way onboard The Love Boat, too.

The sentiment goes both ways, Bonnie. :) I was out of the country for a bit and away for the holidays, but now back to the old routine. It's good to see you back online.

NICE!! I hope you had a nice trip and enjoyed your holidays! ;) They put Here's Lucy on at 6PM now and that is the same time as Chips! :( Glad I got to see them all when it was on at 4! I'm going to look out for the ep with Desi Jr. and Ann Margret. I loved that one! I saw her in a movie with Joe Namath ( CC and company) the other day! :)
