The CW’s Mark Pedowitz on "Dixie’s" Future

"Hart of Dixie" was not among the massive eight-series renewal at the top of The CW’s TCA executive session today.

“We haven’t committed yet to whether the series will continue beyond this season,” The CW chief Mark Pedowitz said. “I’m happy to see how it plays. If the series ends, it is a great finale, if it doesn’t, it’s a great season finale.”

The CW isn't commenting, but creator Leila Gerstein tweeted a week ago that the 4th-season CW series was going to end after three more episodes. "No one out there loves #HOD more than me," she added. "I would have gone 17 years! But I assure you, we prepared for this...And the finale will be tremendously satisfying to all."
