"Celebrity Name Game" Renewed for Second Season

Debmar-Mercury and FremantleMedia North America today made it official, saying freshman syndicated "Celebrity Name Game" has been renewed for a second season.

The decision was not unexpected.





The renewals follow pickups by Tribune Broadcasting, Sinclair Broadcast Group and Cox Broadcasting, among others, and provides the game show with initial 2015-2016 clearances in well over 80% of the U.S.

Hosted by Craig Ferguson and executive produced by Courteney Cox and David Arquette, the second season is in pre-production and the first season, currently on air, returns with new episodes on January 12. The first season, which premiered this past fall, ranks No. 2 among all new strips.





"Celebrity Name Game" puts contestants and their celebrity teammates on the spot as they compete in four rounds of fast-paced gameplay to identify famous names – actors, singers, athletes, pop culture figures, politicians, even cartoon characters – based on improvised clues.

The winning team has a chance to walk away with up to $20,000.

Excellent news! Hopefully my affiliates give it a timeslot upgrade on weekdays.

I agree with everyone else. Definitely a great game show with someone who's a half-decent game show host...

I watched a few eps.

I have to say I like "Hollywood Game Night" a lot better as far as current "celebrity game shows" go.

If I want to I can see the same episode 10 times a day on 5 different channels!

Syndicated game show "Celebrity Name Game" has been renewed for a third season on Tribune and Sinclair stations.

The half-hour weekday strip currently airs in more than 93% of the country, including the top 50 U.S. markets, and as of now has been cleared in more than 70% of the U.S. through the 2016-2017 season.
