Dexter's Dad is almost like some kind of prototype of Randy Marsh. After a couple of seasons you could really tell the writers became more and more enamored with him, devoting more episodes to him. He gets way too into things like Randy too. It's funny how TV writers relate more to lame dads as time goes on.
