On saturday I got 2 VHS movies :)

1) Smokey and the bandit 3 - 1983 (I wasnt gonna get part 2 or 3 of this as I have read they arent as good as the first which I love but I saw this REGULAR COPY of the movie (NOT 'DIGITALLY RECORDED') and I couldnt pass it up (Its the original release of it (1983)))) Ill see how it is.... (I think Part 2 is better)

2) Mystic Pizza - 1988

Smokey and the bandit 3 was crap.. (Just like i heard) Plus the tape was NOT TAKEN CARE OF and not in good condition... Trying to decide wheather im gonna put it back up @ salvation army or just throw it away.... (I dont like putting bad quality stuff up for someone to buy)

I have gotton some tapes that were not taken care of and I threw them out!!! (And a badly scratched record also)

I had NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD by Columbia/Tristar and it was crap,sound no better than watching it on TV really (directv,etc) ..... I then found the first release of this by RCA/COLUMBIA and its MUCH BETTER!! (The true sound of the 'ULTRA STEREO' comes right out)

This video store I goto just got about 1500 tapes in and I was looking thru some in the back that hadnt been put out and I found a SUPERMAN THE MOVIE tape!!

The box was a re-issued one that said DIGITALLY PROCESSED so I wasnt going to get it.. THEN I LOOKED @ THE TAPE ITSELF and its the ORIGINAL RELEASE!! (Its in the wrong box) Print date: 01/05/89

I discovered they both look the same (Usually Warner bros labels thier tapes that they put thru digital processing) -- The audio does not sound like analog..... (Low and not much bass..... I might not keep it (I have Superman 2 recorded off analogue cable and that one is georgeous))

I'm a big fan of The Innkeepers. I like all of Ti West's films, even Cabin Fever 2, though I think he has basically disowned it. He has a new western coming out with John Travolta and Ethan Hawke.

Patrick was a decent reboot/remake. Though I gotta say the Italian sequel Patrick Still Lives from the 80's is still my fave in all its tasteless over the top glory.

Chernobyl Diaries I liked also, better than I thought I would.

I can't remember if I've seen Rogue River, I might be confusing it with a film with a similar title. I try to watch all of the After Dark films.

It's filmed at a real functioning inn. It's where Ti West, cast & crew stayed when they were filming House Of The Devil. The Innkeepers came about when they heard stories about the place supposedly being haunted. Kelly McGillis' character was loosely inspired by Dee Wallace.

Today I got the ORIGINAL RELEASE of GREASE (1978) -- NO LETTERBOX ANYWHERE IN IT!! (The one I had before had letterbox @ the beggining and end and wasnt as natural an experience.. (A 1989 release -- This one is a 1987))

It is georgeous and I have been wanting it for awhile.. (I love analog!!)

I like The Sacrament, Gene Jones was great as the Jim Jones-type leader. There's a very similar movie that came out in 2012 titled Children Of Sorrow. It's also found footage about a Jim Jones-type cult.

I saw that there is also a "32 Movie Collection" that came out in 2010, but it includes the films from the separate "After Dark Thrillers" set (all but French Quarter) and none from the Vol. 4 set.

The 32-set has 2 films that weren't included in the previous sets: Carnival of Crime (1962) and Lurkers (aka Home Sweet Home) (1988).

Just checked my After Dark set and it says 1975 for Pick-up. So the misprint is only on Vol. 1.

I bought this Nightmare on Elm Street DVD at Walmart to keep for my son's birthday which is in October. He likes horror movies too.

Not technically a purchase, but I recently gave away some things to one of my neighbor's garage sales. He told me to take whatever I wanted and Road Trip (2000) was the only DVD he had that was in good condition and not a bootleg.

I like the sequel. I think it's a lot of fun, I like the cast of vampires.

Actually I'm not sure. I didn't bother with the remake's sequel. Though I did enjoy the remake.

What I liked about the 1st one was that it had a female killer, which are smaller in comparison to male killers in slasher flicks.

I don't remember too much about the 2nd one. I just realized Jennifer Morrison (Once Upon a Time) starred in it.



I didn't want to look too much into it since I'll be seeing it at some point, but the 3rd was an in-name only direct-to-video release w/ no connection to the others. Apparently it takes on a more supernatural approach.

What's the running time on that Slave Of The Cannibal God DVD? The full uncut version is about 103 mins. But I think as long as it's not the 86 min R-rated cut you're good to go, especially for 50 cents.

I picked up the "Wild Things Trilogy" DVD set from the discount movie bin at Shop-Rite for $5.00

It was released in 2008 before the most recent Wild Things direct-to-video sequel, Foursome, came out in 2010.

Today I got the movie THE TERROR (1963) on VHS :)

Im amazed.... Its a GOODTIMES HOME VIDEO release and its in SP mode!! (Most stuff by GOODTIMES I have seen is in LP mode (Not as good quality))

I did a search and this GOODTIMES copy (1985) is the only one in SP mode I saw!
