View Full Version : Do you believe in Angels? Cokeville Elementary School Explosion

Details: David Young was a deranged former cop who made national headlines when he and his wife, Dorsie, invaded a classroom at Cokeville Elementary School and held 154 children and teachers hostage with a crudely built homemade bomb. Young believed the school was actually brainwashing the kids and demanded two million dollars for each of them. Otherwise, he said he would explode the bomb and lead them to a brave new world. It was wired to Dorsie's arm, but when she gestured too far, it went off setting her on fire and exploding the room. Young committed suicide before he could be captured.

Angel Mysterious Photo

Incredibly, not a single child or teacher was killed in the blast, although 79 were injured. It was believed the bomb was so poorly created that it could not have done much damage. However, many of the younger kids spoke of seeing "angels". A mysterious photo of what appeared to be one on the north wall proves to many that some were there that day.
Extra Notes: This case first aired on the December 13, 1996 episode. It inspired the book When Angels Intervene To Save The Children: The Cokeville, Wyoming Bombing Incident by Hart Wixom. It was followed by the movie To Save The Children starring Richard Thomas and Robert Ulrich. It was featured on the show Unexplained Mysteries.

children saw angels.
I wish there was some way to commune with angels.

I believe Dana point jane doe also saw angels as she was dying.

Stop. Just stop. Quit the weird spiritual masturbatory circle jerk you two have going on about the Dana Point Jane Doe. It's disgusting. It's disrespectful. You are making a mockery of a poor, desperate woman who died alone and penniless.

You're fascinated by her? Great. Terrific. Use that energy to wade through doe network and Charley and namus and newspaper archives and give her back her name. THAT would be about bringing her peace instead of you getting your metaphysical jollies at the expense of a woman who felt she was out of options.

Yeah, there's nothing more peaceful than falling off a cliff to your death and breaking all of your bones in the process, and your last seconds on Earth are in excruciating pain and agony.

Another ludicrous story-guess those angels were busy during the Beslan siege & the recent Pakistan school attack. Wouldn't they have done better to actually use their powers to defuse the bomb rather than letting it go off & injuring over half those present?

yet her final act was to make angels in the sand.

she found the spiritual inner strength to overcome pain, and to let the world know that despite all the pain suffering and poverty, she will not be crushed.

sand is heavier than snow.

it takes a conscious effort to create a snow angel, and sand angel would require more effort.

NO HER FINAL ACT WAS TO WRITHE IN PAIN AS SHE LAY DYING resulting in a scene that the officer on scene likened to a child making snow angels because it was a mental image most people would understand. It was a metaphor. A literary device used to illustrate the situation.

By peace I was referring to the end ,not the fall ........maybe I should re-phrase my earlier staetement to make it more clear .....I feel in the end she found peace from what may have been making her unhappy. This young woman may have had a troubled life and may have been running away from her troubles hence my remark about her finally finding peace in the end ....

well i think she most likely lived a difficult life as evidence by her second hand clothing and cavities. perhaps a broken home. but despite her hardships, she wanted the world to know there is goodness. and it takes a special kind of soul to see that. an indigo. :happyface

thats a very good question. angels work in mysterious ways.

there's a writer named swedenborg.
i suspect that some souls are more attuned to angels than others.

i admit i've not yet learned the secret of the angels but i watch UM and listen to stories of miracles and angels to discover how.

Oh. And for the record, there was a metric ton of stuff left out of the UM segment on this story. Like the three other adults who were supposed to be in on the plan and bailed when they found out, including the couple's 19 year old daughter who ran to town hall to warn them.

Were there angels in Cokeville that day? Yes. The teachers. The daughter. Maybe the daughter is the one who messed with the bomb when she found out what was going on. Maybe Doris wasn't quite so keen on her husband's plan to take an entire generation into his messianic doomsday and she messed with the bomb. She was the one who triggered the dead man switch when he was out of the room.

The OP has made many threads like this recently. I try to stay out of them for the most part, but the posts are downright creepy, disturbing, and pretty much make most of us do this:  Check the others out and you'll see what I mean. The only positive things that have come from the threads are the wonderful reaction gifs, memes, and responses from other posters who prove this forum still has some sanity. I know that sounds harsh against OP, but I'm sorry, I've seen enough and have to say it.

Oh, and just to add my own to the mix, this is usually me upon reading these threads:

This is seriously KILLING me! That was my mom's church! To show how big a deal this is, I figured maybe 5 or 10 such churches existed nationwide, and one's chances of randomly meeting a New Churcher online are about as good as meeting a Bigfoot in the woods (ANY Bigfoot--random or not--), so just for fun I added them up. One branch of the church has 50 groups in 27 states and the other has 32 in 16 states and DC. Keep in mind many of these are congregations only, without a church building or even necessarily a regular minister--they're simply "contact pastor so-and-so if you're interested." Not to mention I also love Star Wars! This is a sorry day. :( A VERY sorry day. :faint:

P. S. Apparently teachings in the Glenview New Church did not take, as there is nothing in the Bible or the Writings of Swedenborg about poltergeists, Bigfoot, and Space aliens abducting or killing children to steal their souls!

Yes, I've been to the Glenview Church, but that could be just a lucky guess on your part. What I don't understand is how you know I met Bigfoot there. He rose right out of the middle of the pond, transfixing me with an unearthly glare. By the time I could unfreeze enough to call for witnesses, he took off, so no one else saw him.

MmmmmHmmmm, but did you ever watch a little show called Touched by an Angel? (or maybe this was on Promised Land, they did some crossovers) in which the character Russell Green said, "Seein' one ain't bein' one." And the simple act of reading Swedenborg does not confer the ability to converse with Jesus and angels! :angdev: Swedenborg also interacted with beings from Hell, and somewhere in the book Heaven and Its Wonders and Hell...I am not sure of the exact quote...but it is something very much like, "Kids, don't try this at home!" :nonono:

Originally everyone who lived in the circle were Swedenborgians, but since 2000, most aren't. I can't imagine a time when it was a community where families lived there and walked to church. I think most of the current members live far away. There's an Anglican church across the street.

I like star wars b/c of the Force and the light sabers. I've not seen Touched by an Angel but I do watch A Haunting and similar shows. True about Swedenborg. Like a Sith Lord, I think I've gone beyond Swedenborg with my knowledge of UFO's and reincarnation

When were you in Glenview? Swedenborg was cool, certainly with extraterrestrials and maybe with UFOs centuries before Roswell. Paragraph 6 here http://www.sacred-texts.com/swd/eiu/eiu01.htm describes intergalactic travel but this may be in spirit without use of physical means. If you believe in reincarnation, sorry, Swedenborg can't help ya there!
