According to IMDB.com and a few other sources, Kiefer Sutherland (of the Fox Network series 24) was considered for the role of Raymond "Red" Reddington on The Blacklist, before they went with James Spader.
I would think that if Kiefer Sutherland was playing the role of Red, then 24: Live Another Day probably wouldn't have been realized.
What does anyone think of this: Kiefer Sutherland doing a second action series? At his point, I (and no one else) just can't imagine anyone else playing the role of Red on The Blacklist other than James Spader. (Plus, Red's signature fedora hat was Spader's idea.)
