View Full Version : 2 year-old shoots mother dead in Idaho store
Steve_uk 12-30-2014, 04:37 PM If any more proof were needed that the freedom to carry guns, bear arms or whichever way you care to dress it up,is doing more harm than good, one only need read the latest shocking episode of a tragedy in an Idaho Walmart store.http://blogs.seattletimes.com/today/2014/12/woman-shot-at-wal-mart-in-north-idaho/
Wawwie 12-30-2014, 10:15 PM Why am I not surprised this happened at Wal-Mart?
BTW, what an upstanding mother! She's got nobody to blame but herself. It sure isn't the two year olds fault. The kid should be taken away. Evidentially, he'd be better off.
James28 12-30-2014, 11:19 PM That is odd. a 2-year-old shooting a person dead? I can't imagine a toddler shooting a person dead intentionally, but if that were the case, he'd be charged as an adult, and/or obviously feel really guilty about it for the rest of his life.

The kid is TWO. He's an INNOCENT BABY. None of this is his fault.
James28 12-30-2014, 11:31 PM ^^Either way, he'd still feel guilty about accidentally shooting dead a person he loves so much. What was the mom carrying a gun for, anyway? She would have had a concealed weapon permit or something.

Of course he would feel guilty. Someone would have to inform him about this tragedy as he got older, because it is very doubtful that a two year old would remember this on his own. NONE of this is his fault.
CPS, please take this child away.
James28 12-31-2014, 12:28 AM One more thought: Well, whether this was his fault or not, the mother didn't deserve to die this way, accidentally or not.

Of course not, but she caused it.....NOT the baby.
James28 12-31-2014, 12:45 AM ^^And how? You're acting like if she had a gun/firearm in her purse, that would automatically make the mom a criminal. Maybe it was not an appropriate place for her to carry a gun, unless she was living in a high-crime area and must have done all she can to defend herself.

Ummm..... she DID have a gun in her purse.... so how is this not her fault ?The mother set this in motion.Ifshe did not have a gun in her purse, she would still be alive..... NO?
You really gonna blame an innocent two year old? What is wrong with you? Hmmmm....who is the adult and who is the child?
Gimme a F&^%$ing break! The mother is totally at fault! Sorry, I know you disagree with me, but blaming a two year old for this is SICK.
James28 12-31-2014, 01:32 AM ^^I wasn't trying to blame the two-year-old. I jut stated that the WalMart just wasn't an appropriate place for her to be carrying that firearm, and maybe she had no business possessing a gun. I wanted to speak my mind about how weird and shocking this situation is, and all you want to do is start a dispute and force me to take it personally. The potential for these type of accidents happening is why I never touch any kind of firearm.
Also, did the mother herself commit even one type of crime/wrongdoing?

Sorry, it seemed like you were putting more blame on a completely innocent two year old than the adult mother.
Wawwie 12-31-2014, 01:38 AM Also, did the mother herself commit even one type of crime/wrongdoing?
Corruption of a minor?
Contributing to the delinquency of a minor?
Yeah, like you said....this poor kid is gonna have to live with this for the rest of his life.... and NONE of it is his fault.
It's his NEGLEGENT mother's fault.
James28 12-31-2014, 01:40 AM And how is it not the toddler's fault? He didn't deserve to lose his mother this way, even accidentally. And he didn't need to (unintentionally) kill his own mother for no reason.
Wawwie 12-31-2014, 01:45 AM Why is it not his fault?
HELLO.......
HE IS TWO YEARS OLD.....
HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE PROTECTED BY AN ADULT WHO CLEARLY DID NOT PROTECT HIM......
HOW COULD YOU EVEN ASK THIS???
I am not going to debate this any further with you because I know you are like 80 years old, and I don't want to argue with someone of your maturity.
James28 12-31-2014, 01:47 AM You know what?
:caveman:
(Also, I edited my last reply. Maybe you didn't read the report.)
janet42 12-31-2014, 03:44 AM The mom was a stupid idiot that carried a gun where a two year old could reach it. Now the stupid mother caused this child and the rest of her children to become motherless because she was stupid and a idiot.

He's in his 20s.
Flying Dutchman 12-31-2014, 11:42 AM I doubt seriously that the Woman intentionally put herself in the situation where her kid was going to grab the gun and shoot her.
And there may have been a good reason she was carrying the gun in the first place. Maybe someone attempted to Rob her, or even sexually assault her and she carried the gun for protection. Granted, it was stupid to keep her purse open knowing it was there, and she paid the price for that, but we all make mistakes when focusing on other issues, such as shopping and reading the ingredients in a food product, etc.
You call her an idiot. You say She got what she deserved" you have no sympathy for her. Don't any of you care that a human life was taken and that a kid/s is now motherless? Oh almost forgot. The kid has to grow up knowing he shot his mother to death. This Woman has done nothing to any of you.
And I am sure this will give the anti gun activists more ammo (no punn intended) to use in their latest campaign against guns.
I don't own a gun cause I never needed to. But I like having the right, if I should ever need to.

Wow. This statement shows that you are a realist.
realist
[ree-uh-list]
noun
1.
a person who tends to view or represent things as they really are.
However, humans have a conscience and show compassion which my explain why these tragic events are looked at not so much by the cold facts, but by others through the eyes of the child and the family members that have losed a beloved member.
Wawwie 12-31-2014, 06:03 PM He's in his 20s.

James28 12-31-2014, 06:15 PM ^^Just for that, I'm putting you (Wawwie) on my ignore list right now.
Steve_uk 12-31-2014, 06:20 PM The victim was 29 year-old Veronica Rutledge,a talented nuclear scientist. I don't know why the security catch was not on the weapon and I don't know why guns can't be confined to the home for the general public, but let's not blame the toddler, who will have to live with this incident for the rest of his life.http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2014/dec/31/idaho-nuclear-scientist-shot-dead-son-walmart
Dude111 01-01-2015, 08:05 AM The kid is TWO. He's an INNOCENT BABY. None of this is his fault. This whole story is suspicous!!!!
HOW CAN A 2YO PULL A TRIGGER?? -- They cant........ Not if the safety is on and even if it isnt,THEY DONT HAVE THE STRENGTH TO PULL IT!!!!
This is most likely an attack on gun owners........ ITS STILL VERY SAD :(

It does seem odd. Maybe the family, who were raised around guns, had toy guns at home,as I was brought up firing a pistol with caps, and the son thought it was just a game. The victim's best friend,Sheri Sandow, said Veronica didn't carry a gun because she felt unsafe in public, but was just part of her daily routine and repertoire..http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2014/12/31/the-inside-story-of-how-an-idaho-toddler-shot-his-mom-at-wal-mart/
