Meet "Glee's" Season 6 Newbies!
by Michael Slezak and Andy Swift
December 28, 2014

The original "Glee" kids may be back in Lima, OH for the show’s sixth and final season, however, the show’s writers are introducing a quintet of new kids to pick up the New Directions banner (and bring a little teenage angst to the proceedings).

While Fox has yet to officially confirm the names of the actors who’ve signed on for the roles that TVLine first reported back in August, the news has leaked thanks to the magic of Facebook, Twitter and local news media interviews.

Who He's Playing:

Roderick, described as a chubby and shy teen with a voice like Otis Redding. His looks don't match with his talent.

Described as, “a true goober.” He's the show's new underdog.

Where You've Seen Him:

Biggest pre-Glee credit was singing Ariana Grande's 'Problem' — during a tango between Mark Ballas and Sadie Robertson — on "Dancing With the Stars".

His 'Sexy and I Know It' cover, meanwhile, has tallied over 22 million YouTube hits since it was posted in May 2012.

Who He's Playing:

Spencer, the new resident “football stud” who just so happens to possess an incredible voice. He's also gay.

But, per the role's casting notice, “he's post-Glee gay — no one messes with him about his sexuality because he will kick their asses if they do.”

Where You've Seen Him:

"Canadian Idol" finalist in 2008, he's since been seen in episodes of "Saving Hope" and "Alphas", and starred in the TV movie How to Build a Better Boy.

Samantha Ware

Who She's Playing:

Jane, a righteous, ambitious and unconventionally pretty gal, she's funny because she doesn't have much of a sense of humor.

She wanted to be a Warbler, but tradition kept her from joining — so she jumps ship to the New Directions.

Where You've Seen Her:

A newbie to the small screen, Ware cut her teeth on Broadway, playing Nala in The Lion King, then co-starring in The Book of Mormon's first national tour.

Next stop, McKinley!

Billy Lewis Jr.

Who He's Playing:

Mason, the male half of a new set of twin Cheerios.

This super-positive and extremely weird kid gives off a gay vibe (he's not).

Where You've Seen Him:

While "Glee" marks Lewis' TV debut, he's been featured in the national touring companies of Hair, Spring Awakening and Queens' We Will Rock You, according to Broadway World.

Laura Dreyfuss

Who She's Playing:

Madison, a new member of the Cheerios (along with her twin brother Mason).

Like Mason, she's also described as super-positive and extremely weird.

Where You've Seen Her:

Another TV newcomer with musical theater roots, Dreyfuss appeared in the Broadway productions of Hair and Once before being bitten by the "Glee" bug.

I wonder why Jake, Ryder, Kitty, Marley and Unique are gone.

Kitty was in last night's Homecoming episode. But I was hoping to see Emma, Marley, Unique, Sugar and Joe ASAP this season.

The ones that should be officially gone are Mike, Jake and Ryder ONLY.

Laura Dreyfuss looks hot to me, is she related to this well-known actress Julia Louise-Dreyfuss?
