I'm surprised Patty never did a guest spot on the show. Her own son was a cast member and I think she might of been on the set even with her busy career in television and movies.

When Mac was on the show, she was filming "Hail to the Chief" and "Karen's Song". But maybe she didn't want to "intrude" on her son's show and be a guest star, although I'm sure she would have done a great job if she had made an appearance.
