I never noticed it in 1st runs. It wasn't till 2001 when it was repeated on Fox network that I did. Many times the show was badly acted and the stories in the later seasons would get pretty bad sometimes. Even to the point where I would change the channel. I believe season ten had only one very good episode. "The Magic of Gershwin" I really liked. The rest were just okay.

There was one objection I had to the show and that's Mary (Jessica Biel) I never quite warmed up to her. She always seemed selfish and out to serve herself, unless it was a friend she was helping. Not like she was a teem player. Ever since that episode titled "Saturday" in the 1st season, where she didn't want to invite her family to her Basketball game, when she said they embarrassed her, that was it for me.

But other than Matt (Barry Watson) whom I really like today, Stephen Collins and Catherine Hicks were the reason I started watching the show. The reason I continued to watch the show. But now that Collins admitted to being a pedophile, I don't know if I can watch the show anymore. I don't want it to seem like I am taking it out on the other players, but let's face it. Stephen Collins is in ,I believe, every episode. I just don't know if I can look at him anymore.

Bill Cosby is in the same boat, but I never really watched the Cosby show.

Does anyone else feel the same way I do? Will you ever watch 7th Heaven again?

Yes I'll watch it. I guess I'll have to buy it on DVD or something though since it seems every channel that was showing it has now yanked it off the air. I disagree it's badly acted, I think it's a wonderful show (usually) from beginning to end. But yeah I think some of the storylines and plots got kind of silly later on. Just because one actor has acted despicably doesn't change me liking the show. It's still a good, wholesome family show with good life lessons that shows a family that has faith in God. So yes I'll always like 7th Heaven and if others disagree with that and choose to not watch it anymore then that's their business and we'll just have to agree to disagree about it.

I bought the show right after the news about Stephen made the headlines. I will always love this not a one person show.

God bless you and everyone who made the show the success that it was always!!! :) :) :)

What I'm still trying to figure out is WHO told Stephen Collins it was a good idea to do what he did to those poor, helpless, little girls.

I do not mean to excuse him, but I have a feeling something terrible happened to him during childhood, and this is why he turned out the way he did.

No, I will not purposely watch some perverted, sick child molester on any show.

7th Heaven is another show in which a horiffic crime committed by one of its actors has spoiled people's enjoyment of the show.

I never watched 7th Heaven when it was on originally. But the question was asked is always something that ask. If you find something sick about somebody, do you watch there shows again? Do you watch there DVD's again? Its kind of a slippery slope for me. I guess if UP shows them, and this a channel, that BLEEPS out the word damn and ass, I guess its ok. Remember the Cosby Show came back on the air after the allegations started only to be taken off again.

To me, what makes Stephen stand apart from the others who are in the group that he placed himself in is the fact that he actually admitted to what he did when he really didn't have to since his victims made it as clear as crystal glass that they had no intention to say anything. He never once had to admit such a thing about his past when he was sitting in that counseling session.....but he did. No, that will never excuse him for what he admitted to being guilty of, but if its really true that he has gotten the help that is out there for people like him and that it really has been over 20 years now since the last time that he crossed such a horrific line, then I believe that all of that should be taken into consideration too.

God bless you and him and his victims always!!!

Holly

P.S. I might stand alone in all that I am saying here, but I would much rather watch Stephen compared to Bill Cosby. I am sure that its a safe bet that Bill was a lot more active in such a sickening field and because he obviously never once had any desire to man up to what he did, in my opinion, he couldn't be anymore of a word that I can not say.

if i had to stop watching tv shows because of what i thought about the real lives of various performers, there may not be anything i could watch !!

stephen collins and eric camden are 2 different people

this is a wonderful show, with tremendous values

What Collins did was wrong, and I still disprove of his actions, but unlike Bill Cosby, atleast he admitted it and is trying to make amends. Since I started this post, I have seen some things that give me a different view. Stephen's career is over, and he has lost many of his friends, as they are afraid to let him around their kids, or grand kids, so he is paying a heavy price. I guess Faye got her payback.

^^^ I wonder how much more he would have done considering how long he was in front of the camera and his age being what it is now.

God bless you and him always!!!

i am not condoning what collins did

but come on - stop comparing him to bill cosby - there is no comparison

supposedly there were 3 instances in which collins exposed himself to young girls. and one in which there was inappropriate touching

cosby has been accused of putting drugs in drinks and having sex.

and literally hundreds or thousands of times

cosby is an evil predator

and as i said in my previous post, stephen collins and eric camden are not the same person

neither is any other actor and the character that the actor is portraying

^^^ Amen to all of that. To me, Stephen owning up to what he did especially when he was not even under the microscope for it already is what puts him in a class by himself. When he sat in the counseling session that got recorded, he never once had to even breathe one word about what he had done if no one was suspicious of him doing it.

God bless you and him and his victims always!!!

Holly

P.S. I've read that recording the counseling session was his wife's idea. What I would like to know is why she wanted it on tape, especially if she did not expect him to share such a thing about himself. If she was hoping for something else to be put out there, well then what it is?
