Just wondering why "Cannon" doesn't have its own board. It was a big hit that ran for 5 seasons.

Hopefully one day it'll finally be completed on DVD!

No Cannon thread, no Flipper or Lassie thread either! :(

I liked Cannon. I posted somewhere about Cannon on here, can't remember where, but I noticed he didn't have his own thread, and yeah like you said Cannon was on TV a good while. ;)

A lot of cop/detective shows don't have their own message boards. Mannix was on CBS for 8 season and no message board for it either!

usually it depends on how much activity there is related to the show on the boards here.

- so if you keep talking about it, it could happen!

Love William Conrad and Frank Cannon. such a powerful, commanding voice. You know that Bill Conrad narrated the tv series "The Fugitive" in the 1960s.

I like the ME-TV bumper that uses the clip where a boy asks him "How did you get so fat?"

Before that in the 1940 was Marshall Dillion on the radio!

Like China Beach; Cannon & Flipper are underrated on the SO Forum board but should be on here so does Lassie. If you go Site Suggestions board on SO website then create a post/thread about Lassie, Flipper & Cannon being added onto the Classic Dramas Board.

Unless I am mistaken Cannon is the best and most re-watchable detective show.

I'm not really a fan of most of the cop/detective shows but Cannon is one that I like and it's mainly because I get a kick out of William Conrad. He doesn't mess around in those Cannon episodes, doesn't take crap from anybody and gets right down to business.

A few other cop/detective shows that I find to be OK are Banacek, Harry O, and Petrocelli. Mod Squad and Streets Of San Francisco are OK too. But that's about it. Shows like Mannix, Rockford Files, Barnaby Jones, no I've never gotten into those.

I wish a pay streaming service had the detective shows you mentioned. Also Harry O. Amazon prime has classic sitcoms but no 60-70s detective shows.

I've been watching some Cannon episodes lately on the complete series DVD that I have. For the most part the episodes are enjoyable but I generally find the endings to be unsatisfactory, everything usually gets resolved too quickly without much explanation, leaving the story incomplete with questions remaining. I like the show but I think the episode endings could have been done better.

Here's an example, in the episode Killer On The Hill, at the end of the episode, Cannon gets the shooter but it's not fully explained as to what happened with the man and woman who hired him to do their dirty deeds, the way it plays out it seems they were not brought to justice and got away with their nefarious schemes.

Hi retro, it has been 3 years since we pm'd. I will take a look at Killer On The Hill tonight. Works out perfect as Cannon was on Wednesday and that is what today is.

Hi dakert, I know you like Cannon also and figured you might reply. With the episode Killer On The Hill, there's a scene with the man and woman towards the end before the final shootout, looks like the man is planning to flee and take it on the lam while the woman is just left there, it's not explained or known what happens to them. Very strange, unless there's something I'm missing. This seems to be sort of a complicated episode. Anyhow, watch the episode and see what you think.

I watched the episode "Killer On The Hill". The politician wasn't a crook just his wife and aide so I assume he cooperated with authorities and the baddies got theirs in the end. Sort of like an Alfred Hitchcock Presents without the ending explanation.
Good episode, as I like Brooke Bundy in whatever she was in.

I  CANNON

It's a good episode but the ending could have been explained better, although I suppose it's to be assumed that the schemers were caught and didn't get away with their crimes.

Do you have a favorite Cannon episode?

I like many of them but can't really say that I have a favorite. Quasar Kill is an interesting episode, not because it's the greatest but because it's plot/story line is unique and different. Another episode I watched recently is Trial By Terror, that one's pretty good too.

I also have the complete series DVD of It Takes A Thief, TV series with Robert Wagner. One cool episode from that series is A Very Warm Reception, I watched it recently and it's very good.

I'm on a bit of a Cannon kick lately, I have the complete series DVD and for the last week or so I watch an episode in the evening before I retire for the night. Seems like in the evening after it gets dark outside is a good time to watch these mystery shows :).

Last night I watched the final episode from season 3 titled The Stalker. Cindy Williams is in it and she's very cute looking :eyes:. It's a good episode but as usual with many of these Cannon episodes, the ending was disappointing, resolved fairly quickly and unremarkable, the final scene of the episode is one of those lighthearted comic relief scenes . I would prefer that these episodes be resolved a little better with more suspense and proper explanation at the end without leaving loose ends open.

Not sure what episode I'll watch tonight but I might choose Target In The Mirror which is also from season 3.

Last night I did watch the episode Target In The Mirror, it's a good episode and I liked the ending, this episode has a satisfactory ending. The only thing is, it's made known early on in the episode who the bad guy is. So when the episode reaches the conclusion and Cannon catches up to the bad guy, there isn't really any element of surprise or suspense because the audience already knows who Cannon is looking for. Aside from that it's a good episode.

Tonight I might take a look at the episode Perfect Alibi, sounds like it might be a good episode. I'll probably check it out and see what I think.

You might find this a little weird but Cannon is my cat's favorite cop show and every night after Mannix ends on METV my cat will start making noise until he hears Cannon's theme song then he stops meowing and watches Cannon by himself while my mom and I go to bed and then when Cannon's over my cat starts being noisy again and wake us up. I asked my mom why my cat is obsessed with Cannon and she just giggled. I don't know what Mom and I will do if Cannon gets replaced and my cat couldn't be without it? Probably just play Cannon DVDs to keep my cat quiet.

Wow that's pretty wild if your cat likes the Cannon TV show. I used to have a cat and I remember one time when I was watching a basketball game on TV, the cat was attracted to the bouncing basketball so he ran up to the TV and put his paw on the screen trying to play with the basketball, it was funny.

I love Cannon. I was too little to remember watching but I remember the show. I just love the vinyl red interiors of his cars. Such a flashback to the early 70s. Its on METV at 3am. If I get up early, I watch it and I LOVE the show.

I also wondered why Cannon does not have its own thread

Cannon is easily one of my favorite P.I. shows. I watch lots of them, the older series like The Rockford Files, Mike Hammer, 77 Sunset Strip, Magnum P.I., Barnaby Jones, and Matt Houston. Cannon has nice touches and I think the likability of the character is certainly a factor. My uncle used to watch it regularly in primetime so I remember seeing some of the first-run episodes.

One of the plusses is seeing ladies like Joan Van Ark, Cindy Williams, and Arlene Golonka when more-or-less they never looked better. I've probably played the dvd back and forth 500 times to check out Joan's amazing backside...! :)
