(which owns the remaining 30%). Scripps spun off the cable unit (SNI) years ago. And even before that, Food Network was still cable/satellite only. jmann 01-03-2015, 07:06 AM Finally getting Antenna TV in the Boston area. But perhaps the most significant part of the business model is that it will devote 90 seconds to a public service announcement every hour of every single day of the year. Operating in conjunction with a number of law enforcement agencies as well as Crime Stoppers USA and The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, these PSA’s will include a thirty second spot entitled “Bad Person of the Week,” another spot to help locate missing children, and a third for offering safety tips. Justice network will be available in around a third of U.S. homes thanks to its distribution deal with Gannett broadcasting. We have MeTV (19.2) and Retro TV (29.1 LP/35 analog LP) and Antenna TV (8.2). I'd like to see Cozi TV on 5.2, but am not holding my breath...even after the LWN train stops running. See above about reruns in some other cities...WEWS and WXYZ will probably run LWN reruns until they decide. They'll interrupt ABC shows a lot or not show them. Inundated 01-16-2015, 11:07 PM True... To me, WEWS seems to play by their own rules a lot. They'll interrupt ABC shows a lot or not show them. Some of that is Scripps, some is WEWS. There was an alternate ABC affiliate in the market, of course. (WAKR-WAKC/23, today's ION TV O&O WVPX.) But even then, they didn't run all of "Good Morning America" for years due to "The Morning Exchange"...the local show that reportedly influenced the creation of GMA. Inundated 01-19-2015, 11:08 PM ABC and Scripps are launching the "comedy oriented" network LAFF in April, and it'll replace LWN in all Scripps markets...and run alongside an ABC-only LWN on ABC's O&O (owned) stations that'll probably see local shows mixed in with it. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2015/01/18/abc-scripps-to-carry-new-broadcast-network-dedicated-to-comedy/351686/ We could start a whole new thread about what shows and movies will be likely for LAFF. They haven't named any yet... |
