Did anyone like the movie version of the show? I heard allot of people hated it. But I thought it was funny. Diedrich Bader as Jethro was pretty good. He was so hilarious to me.

I also Liked Lilly Tomlin as Jane Hathaway. Very funny too.

Jim Varney also did a great job as Jed Clampett IMHO.

I kinda liked it. It was much better than those stupid remakes of "The Brady Bunch".

that movie was AWFUL!!! Everything about it, the script, the casting, even the direction!
And the worst casting was Diedrick Bader as Jethro, Lily Tomlin as Jane Hathaway and Cloris Leachman as Granny!!! Jim Varney was OK as Jed though; you know-not good but not bad either.

And in case you're thinking I've just seen the show too many times, my brother and brother-in-law who very rarely ever watch TV feel the same way about the movie.
I got it out on DVD once and started watching it but turned it off after 10 minutes it was so AWFUL!!

I saw it in the theater when it first came out. I don't remember hating it, but in no way was it memorable.

I have the DVD, and it is a very good reboot. Cloris Leachman did a good Granny, Bader did Jethro and got away without a voice over to do Jethrine, Jim Varney projected Jed Clampett, Lily Tomlin has Jane, I forgot the name of the Drysdale actor, but he did it well. Even the part where Jed tell Elly May why he raised her like a boy until Granny could come on scene. A compare and contrast that sequence between both scripts could be interesting.

The two major defects: One, at the start, all those gushers, from one shot. The leaker in the original series is not realistic, but bearable. Those gushers were too much, too far over the top.

Two, I forgot the actress's name, but not her one eyebrow over both eyes, and that she was no Elly May. Donna Douglas defined Elly May Clampett like Lynda Carter defined "Wonder Woman."

They thought it would be easy money take a show everyone knows and make a movie, but we are so used to seeing Ebsen as Jed irene ryan as Granny and so on its hard to see other actors in those roles. plus the show was a 60's show it doesn't work in any other decade.

It's been many years since I saw it, but I don't remember liking it very much.
I thought the first Brady Bunch Movie was brilliant.
