Ian Somerhalder is following in the footsteps of his "Vampire Diaries" costar Paul Wesley.

The man behind Damon Salvatore will make his directorial debut with Episode 16 of Season 6, 'The Downward Spiral', Somerhalder announced on his Instagram.

“Thank you to all involved in the decision-making process for giving me the opportunity to do this,” the actor wrote. “I am so grateful. I’ll do my very verry very best not to screw it up.”

Annie Wersching Booked for 'Caustic' Recurring Role on "Vampire Diaries"

Another mysterious lady is making her way to Mystic Falls in 2015.

Annie Wersching has been tapped to recur in "The Vampire Diaries'" sixth season as a “beautiful and strong” woman named Lily, TVLine has learned exclusively.



Also described as “articulate and caustic,” Lily has a reputation for protecting the ones she loves at any cost, though it’s unclear as to who (or what) those loved ones are.

Lily will first appear in Episode 615.
