The original run probably included a handful of episodes that ran in an hourlong format on NBC, but were split into two parts for syndication, causing the difference.

Oohhh, that's probably it, thanks; I hadn't considered that. Were there really 7 hour-long episodes though? That seems like a lot.

Okay, I just answered my own question by clicking on Wikipedia's list of episodes:

"A total of 173 episodes were produced, including seven one-hour episodes."

Wow, there really were 7 hour-long episodes...who knew?
