Sadly, today marks the 10th anniversary of the murder of Dimebag Darrell, the guitarist of the now-defunct heavy metal group Pantera. He was only 38 years old when, on December 8, 2004 (the 24th anniversary of John Lennon's murder), he was fatally gunned down while performing onstage with his new band Damageplan. Three other people were killed in the massacre committed by Nathan Gale, who was eventually shot dead by a cop.

Although a motive for the carnage was never established, some believed that Gale was unhappy over the breakup of Pantera. However, he was also said to have been a schizophrenic who believed that Pantera could read his mind and "stole" his music.
