And, it looks terrible. I don't know what they were thinking. Glad I got most of the episodes DVR'd before they started doing this. But, a few season 4 eps I had to record again (Due to weather messing them up back in the spring when I first taped them) and they turned out to be these copies. Not the original master tape prints played at the correct speed that they were using before.

Also. Anyone think there's something also off with the lighting in these prints. Too bright. Harry's hair looks practically blonde in certain scenes. Whoa.

I'm not normally a complainer. But, when channels speed up TV shows. Especially premium channels that I am paying out the wazoo for...Yeah, I'm gonna rant. Sorry.

Anyone else noticing how sped up it is and how weird the lighting looks in these new prints of the show Encore are now using?

UGH. I don't get Encore so I haven't been able to see it myself, but I've seen other TV channels do this. Nick at Nite used to do it with a lot of their sitcoms. I remember Taxi being sped up a bit. I was surprised when I got the show on DVD and it seemed so much better. I mean, I guess it's to be expected on a channel like that, but like you said, a premium channel like Encore should know better.

Can you contact them and give them some feedback about that? I'd be curious to see if they say anything...

It's kind of a catch 22. If they speed up the episodes the picture quality suffers. If they don't speed it up they have to edit the heck out of it to fit it in to the available time slot.
