It's actually the 22nd Anniversary........

Engineer Neil Papworth was 22 when he sent the first SMS (Short Messaging Service) from his computer to a friend's Orbitel 901 mobile phone, on 3 December 1992.

The message read "Merry Christmas".

I remember my very first cell phone was an ugly spinach green screen could only make/receive calls, send text messages and change ring tones. My how times have changed.

I sent my first one 12 years ago. I thought it was pretty cool at the time.

I hardly ever text. I never really could get the hang of it! Easier just to call and talk to the person.

I didn't start texting to an extreme until I got my iPhone. Now, I'd feel completely lost without the feature.
