Madness 12-03-2014, 03:40 AM Looks good...thanks for posting!
icecream 12-03-2014, 04:13 AM This is one of the best schedules they've had. Newhart in primetime 7 days a week is excellent! And they finally brought WKRP and Barney Miller to the weekday schedule. Good riddance to Married with Children and Sanford & Son, too bad Good Times couldn't have gone with them. Putting Leave it to Beaver 7 days a week is a good move, and so is having it lead into Mr. Belvedere weekdays. Saturdays from 9PM-midnight is much improved, so is Sundays from 1-8PM.
BigManMike 12-03-2014, 07:45 AM Ok schedule. Saturdays and Sunday's look the best with the blocks of new shows I can check out. I'm glad to see Married with Children and The Nanny off the schedule. I'm kind of disappointed Diff'rent Strokes is off though. But why are they now showing The Ropers and Three's a Crowd on weekends instead of in rotation with Three's Company as they have in the past? And why is Too Close for Comfort only airing at one time on weekdays instead of two as in the past?
OH Nuts! 12-03-2014, 08:27 AM Sounds good to me too. And it's all free; so nothing but kudos from me.
VisualSensation 12-03-2014, 12:35 PM Great looking schedule. I can't believe they brought back Barney Miller to weekdays - I thought for sure it was going off the schedule. I just hope they keep showing the episodes in order for the rest of this cycle, as they skipped around a lot during the previous cycle.
LUNCH 12-03-2014, 01:32 PM I consider Antenna and MeTV almost like sister stations, even though they're not.Classic TV channels 1+2 if you will. The main, obvious difference aside from the schedules is most of Antenna's line-up now is sitcoms/comedy shows, while MeTV is about half drama and half comedy. As good as they are,it would be nice if they threw in some more classic shows that have not been on the air for years. But hey these 2 channels have almost single handedly made tv worth watching again so no major complaints here.
BigManMike 12-03-2014, 02:06 PM I'm also disappointed that the shows I was most looking forward too aren't in this batch. But I will probably be getting the complete series of The Jeffersons soon so that isn't a big deal. I was also looking forward to One Day at a Time, Famiy Ties, and Mork and Mindy. I'm guessing Jeffersons and One Day will start later in 2015, and then Family Ties and Mork and Mindy will start in 2016, with possibly some more CBS Paramount shows then as well.
MrCleveland 12-03-2014, 03:42 PM I'm hoping that one day Antenna TV shows shows like Gimme a Break, Facts of Life, 227, Amen, Silver Spoons, and Mama's Family to name a few.

Weigel (owners of METV) recently started the "heroes and icons" network, which airs in a couple of markets so far (including mine, which also had metv a few years before it went nationwide) and is airing alot of the dramas that Metv is airing or has aired. I think the long term plan is probably to separate sitcoms (metv) and dramas (H&I) nationwide at some point. see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heroes_%26_Icons

Can't wait for that station to be in Cleveland...which will probably be 19.3 since MeTV is on 19.2 in Cleveland.

Sounds good but only if both channels are available. In other words,I wouldn't want the Heroes channel replacing MeTV in my neck of the woods for example, and I'm pretty sure many feel the same way.
MrCleveland 12-03-2014, 04:30 PM I'd like to see a free TV Station which would have animated shows.
It may be pricey, but possible!
mets82 12-03-2014, 05:39 PM I was going to mention that I saw a commercial during All in the Family last night that said Leave it to Beaver was coming back. Have to say, I like the schedule. Nice seeing Mr. Beveldere back. I haven't seen that show in forever. It stinks that Bachelor Father is leaving but I understand why Different Strokes is. I mean you could watch the whole series on demand.
Thank god that Sanford and Son, The Nanny and The Partridge Family is gone. So sick of those shows.
Btw, is there a print out of the new schedule?
TVQuack 12-04-2014, 03:12 AM I'll be excited when Mr. Belvedere gets to S5 and S6. :)
Mace Dolex 12-04-2014, 03:37 AM So Married With Children wasn't doing too good on AntennaTV?
OH Nuts! 12-04-2014, 08:46 AM I'm especially looking forward to burning Doogie Howser M.D.
tlc38tlc38 12-06-2014, 08:21 AM I'll be excited when Mr. Belvedere gets to S5 and S6. :)
I hope to have an antenna up on my roof before they get to season 5. I really want to record seasons 5 & 6. I've wanted to be able to get AntennaTV and Me TV for a long time now and I think I'm finally going to get an antenna installed.
Just one step closer to cutting the DIRECTV cord.
Bonniegirl 12-06-2014, 04:12 PM So Married With Children wasn't doing too good on AntennaTV?
It's weird cause Married with children NEVER was on Antenna TV where I live. It would be listed that is was supposed to be on, but in that time slot they always showed local news!!!
I'm totally excited to see Mr. Belvedere again! ;)
treky 12-07-2014, 03:10 AM I'm glad that they're putting WKRP IN CINCINATTI, BARNEY MILLER, and NEWHART on weeknights. A little disappointed though that THE 3 STOOGES will only be on weekends in the early mornings and they're moving GREEN ACRES to noon on weekdays.
Other than that, the schedule looks good.
HarryWild 12-07-2014, 03:23 AM Bachelor Father ran it course I guess. I wish it is released on DVD!
TVFactFan 12-07-2014, 04:40 AM I swear I f*cking hate that Good Times is never removed. That show is going to be in syndication until Im 99
TVFactFan 12-07-2014, 04:44 AM I'm also disappointed that the shows I was most looking forward too aren't in this batch. I thought someone said the Jeffersons was being added to Antenna TV? Well like you said not like it matters because the entire series is complete on DVD
TVFactFan 12-07-2014, 04:46 AM I'm glad that they're putting WKRP IN CINCINATTI, BARNEY MILLER, and NEWHART on weeknights. A little disappointed though that THE 3 STOOGES will only be on weekends in the early mornings and they're moving GREEN ACRES to noon on weekdays.

I will sample Newhart since it comes on at 10pm, great sampling time slot
TVFactFan 12-07-2014, 04:47 AM So Married With Children wasn't doing too good on AntennaTV?
Only airing on saturdays at 11pm, probably not
treky 12-07-2014, 04:48 AM yea that's right I forgot about that!
And I thought they were going to start showing ONE DAY AT A TIME!
treky 12-07-2014, 04:54 AM I will sample Newhart since it comes on at 10pm, great sampling time slot
yea, that's a good time slot for that show. And sandwiched between CHEERS and CAROL BURNETT & FRIENDS which is good.
I just realized-THE BOB NEWHART SHOW is on Me TV Mondays at 10 and 10:30; so on Mondays Bob will be competing with himself!
TVFactFan 12-07-2014, 05:56 AM yea, that's a good time slot for that show. And sandwiched between CHEERS and CAROL BURNETT & FRIENDS which is good.

That's how I was able to sample Bob Newhart on Me-tv, it came on at 10pm.
10pm is great because it's
1. before local news
2. After 7pm NBA games go off
I would say 10pm and 12am are my favorite sampling times
tlc38tlc38 12-07-2014, 06:31 AM According to their site, the other shows (One Day at a Time, The Jeffersons, etc.) will debut sometime between now and 2016. No specific debut dates are given for the remaining shows as of now.
OH Nuts! 12-07-2014, 10:38 AM I swear I f*cking hate that Good Times is never removed. That show is going to be in syndication until Im 99
Hello! I'm with you, wish Antenna would retire that tired cliched old scrap heap of a show already. This is one of the very few minuses with Antenna. Sadly I hope you don't have to wait til you're 125. My message to Antenna: There are so many great shows out there waiting in the wings: can Good Times and air one of these goodies!
treky 12-07-2014, 06:47 PM and also ALL IN THE FAMILY, that's been rerun to death! NICK AT NITE used to show it, then TV LAND, and it's been shown in syndication for YEARS!!!
TVFactFan 12-07-2014, 06:58 PM and also ALL IN THE FAMILY, that's been rerun to death! NICK AT NITE used to show it, then TV LAND, and it's been shown in syndication for YEARS!!!
Yes AITF, Good Times, and Sanford
Bonniegirl 12-07-2014, 07:21 PM Antenna seems to always play Maude and Three's company too. I know Three's company has a big following, but Maude too? I think people would be pretty bored with Maude by now. I know I am , and I liked that show a lot in the 70's !
I'm glad to see some new stuff coming !
Bonniegirl 12-07-2014, 07:25 PM yea, that's a good time slot for that show. And sandwiched between CHEERS and CAROL BURNETT & FRIENDS which is good.
I just realized-THE BOB NEWHART SHOW is on Me TV Mondays at 10 and 10:30; so on Mondays Bob will be competing with himself!
Wow that is funny! ;) That is like at noon PST weekdays, Father knows best is on Antenna and Marcus Welby MD is on Cozi . ( Robert Young competing with himself)! :D And on Time Warner cable the channels are right next to each other too!
TimOhara123 12-07-2014, 11:56 PM I know i'm finding a few eps of Marcus Welby that I missed in the past, great to have it on the air again
Bonniegirl 12-08-2014, 12:27 AM I know i'm finding a few eps of Marcus Welby that I missed in the past, great to have it on the air again
It is a really good show! My Mother loved this show back when it was on first run. I was a little girl, and I watched it with her, not really of course fully grasping it. I thought there was a nice old doctor, a younger good looking doctor and a nice receptionist, I didn't get too into the medical part of it of course being so young. Seeing it again as an adult. I'm blown away just how good the show is! They really cover a lot of illnesses and issues! It is almost like it was before it's time! It has the charm of the shows back in the day , but it addresses illnesses , diseases and issues as if it were written more recently. ;)
ThomasE 12-08-2014, 12:16 PM I'll be excited when Mr. Belvedere gets to S5 and S6. :)
Yes! Those are my favorite seasons as well! I am looking forward to this schedule as well. This is going to be great!!!
Bonniegirl 12-08-2014, 03:35 PM No more Flipper on the weekends !!!:( :( :(
treky 12-09-2014, 02:06 AM I will sample Newhart since it comes on at 10pm, great sampling time slot
yea, I agree Sol; it is since there's not much on the broadcast networks then.
TVFactFan 12-09-2014, 02:13 AM yea, I agree Sol; it is since there's not much on the broadcast networks then.
Bob Newhart was such a nice show to watch at the end of a londg day
Inundated 12-09-2014, 11:21 PM I'm glad that they're putting WKRP IN CINCINATTI, BARNEY MILLER, and NEWHART on weeknights.
This, very much this. This will keep me glued to Antenna TV weeknights (well, except when Good Times is on :D).
I think they finally solved the Barney Miller Problem on our local Antenna TV outlet, WJW 8.2. That's the show that got knocked off Sunday nights for Big Chuck & Lil' John's skit rerun show.
(MrCleveland knows what I'm talking about :D)
tlc38tlc38 12-10-2014, 07:34 PM Bad new for me. I called the only company near me that offers cable and they said it wasn't available in my area. I guess my next attempt is to buy an antenna and attach it to my roof. I've gotta do something to get this channel!

Antenna TV is on WATL/36.3 there.
Here, you can map what likelihood you'll have of getting that station:

Tubehead 12-16-2014, 03:03 PM I wish they would kept Denison the menace and bachelor father
icecream 12-16-2014, 04:21 PM I wish they would kept Denison the menace and bachelor fatherNot only is Dennis the Menace still airing, it gained weekend afternoon and late night slots. Dennis moves to 1PM weekdays and will also air there Sundays, plus 4PM on Saturdays and 4AM late Saturday/Sunday nights.
Madness 12-17-2014, 03:20 AM I see antenna here in NY is airing newscasts (PIX 11) now at 6am, 5pm and 10pm. I really hope this changes as Mr. Belvedere and Newhart will be airing at 5 & 10
Inundated 12-19-2014, 09:38 PM WJW Fox 8 has its main channel loaded with newscasts, so we haven't seen any on Antenna TV/8.2.
BigManMike 12-19-2014, 11:06 PM I've heard lots of complaints about WPIX airing newscasts on Antenna TV all over Antenna TV's facebook page. This needs to stop. I don't know what their problem is but I'm glad I don't live there and have to put up with that.

Here is the odd thing...they have newscasts at the same time (5 PM and 10 PM weeknights) on the main 11.1 channel! Is there some reason they need to duplicate it on 11.2? (They also run an hour of the morning news 6-7 AM.)
http://www.zap2it.com/tvlistings/station/WPIXDT2/50777
BigManMike 12-22-2014, 01:08 PM I see that some shows are most likely not being renewed. Be in mind the new schedule doesn't start until Monday, January 5, so the old schedule is still I effect. During that time, I see they are airing Partridge Family in place of the Nanny, Too Close for Confort in place of Married with Children, Maude in place of Diff'rent Strokes on Thursday and Friday, and All in the Family in place of Diff'rent Strokes on Sunday. Sanford and Son remains in its normal place until the new schedule begins. I don't mind them losing the Nanny and Married with Children, but if they've lost the rights to Diff'rent Strokes, I'm not too happy.
mets82 12-22-2014, 06:57 PM Dont forget that Different Strokes is available on demand. If you go to Encore and hit comedies, you'll see it.

I emailed both Antenna TV and WPIX 11 about this. I hate that 11.2 is airing the news. Give it a rest, already!
I e-mailed to these addresses: wpixpublicfile@pix11.com and binaroy@tribunemedia.com
icecream 12-28-2014, 09:19 PM Evening Shade is starting with episodes 15 and 18 for some odd reason.
ThomasE 01-01-2015, 02:02 AM That is odd. Maybe production wise, those were the two first shot eps? IDK. However, I did get a response from one of the e-mails I sent inquiring about scheduling here in NY and was told that the prempted news broadcasts have ceased. That means, that we should be getting all the airings at 6am, 5 and 10pm for the Antenna TV Schedule.

A quick check of Zap2It.com's listings for WPIX/11.2 show that the newscast simulcasts are gone, and Antenna TV shows are back.

Not changing the run schedule, just running the first episode (presumably for New Year's Day).

Thank you as well, Zap2it!

But...they can grab a nugget here, since Zap2It/Tribune Media Services and WPIX are both owned by Tribune :D

Newhart I could take it or leave it although I did watch the series finale, at least the end of it. How about the applause for Suzanne Pleschette? That was loud and long. That was a good moment.
Btw, did Newhart air there pilot episode on video or something? Looks different from when you see the show later on in the seasons.

BigManMike 01-08-2015, 09:14 PM This is the first time I've ever seen Mr. Belvedere and so far I'm enjoying it. I also like Leave it to Beaver which I've seen many times before. It's much better on Antenna TV. MeTV didn't do it justice..The other new shows on this cycle I've never seen either and some of them I had never even heard of. Which ones would you people on here that have seen them recommend and which ones were not that great?

does that mean they're gonna stop showing WKRP?
BigManMike 02-27-2015, 06:03 AM I love Barney Miller and especially like it airing after Newhart. The Jeffersons can air elsewhere.
To me, Newhart and Barney Miller are boring. I don't know why, but I just can't get into either one of them. But I love The Jeffersons and hope to see it in prime time, as well as One Day at a Time, which I have never seen before and have really wanted to see it for many years.
icecream 02-27-2015, 02:58 PM does that mean they're gonna stop showing WKRP?It will be gone from weekdays anyway. Tonight is its last 7/7:30PM airing. It will still be on this Sunday night at midnight, and Sunday March 8 Antenna will be airing a 3 hour WKRP marathon from 10PM-1AM. I'm guessing the rights will expire soon, it started airing around Easter a few years ago. The strange thing is last night they were still advertising WKRP weeknights (with just one night left to air) and I haven't seen a single ad for Sanford and Son. I'm guessing that show is a placeholder until their April changes.
BigManMike 02-27-2015, 03:02 PM I'm wondering when the changes will take place in April. Will it be early in the month or toward the end?
icecream 02-27-2015, 03:11 PM what I would do for April weekdays
5:00 AM McHale's Navy
6:00 AM Father Knows Best
7:00 AM Dennis the Menace
8:00 AM Mister Ed
9:00 AM Hazel
10:00 AM Burns and Allen
11:00 AM Green Acres
12:00 PM The Patty Duke Show
1:00 PM The Jack Benny Program
2:00 PM I Dream of Jeannie
3:00 PM Bewitched
4:00 PM Leave it to Beaver
5:00 PM Mr. Belvedere
6:00 PM Alfred Hitchcock Presents
7:00 PM WKRP in Cincinnati
8:00 PM One Day at a Time
9:00 PM The Jeffersons
10:00 PM Newhart
11:00 PM Barney Miller
12:00 AM Three's Company
1:00 AM Too Close for Comfort
2:00 AM Doogie Howser, M.D.
3:00 AM Maude
4:00 AM The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin
All in the Family, Good Times, and Sanford and Son would be taking a much needed exit from the schedule. I designed this so Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Jack Benny Program would have decent timeslots for a change. And no show gets more than an hour this time.
If WKRP is indeed expiring my revised schedule, Too Close for Comfort would get promoted to 7PM and some minor changes.

I don't know
icecream 03-06-2015, 05:00 PM We don't know that they got low ratings, that's just what someone is saying. Mr. Belvedere deserves more than one cycle, there are shows that have completed several more cycles that should be taken off first. And Doogie Howser is advertised a lot and got a marathon, I have a feeling it's doing well. All in the Family, Good Times, and Sanford and Son are the shows that need to go.

Doogie got a marathon because NPH was hosting the Oscars that weekend. Otherwise, it airs after midnight and has only 4 seasons of episodes. So it seems to be a prime candidate for replacement. We'll see in the next few weeks.

I agree there. I'm loving Mr. Belvedere and Doogie is alright, although I haven't seen much of it but I try to watch on Saturday nights. The other three you named need a long break. They've been on forever. However, I don't think Mr. Belvedere or Doogie are going anywhere because they haven't been on that long.

Coffeecup 03-07-2015, 03:53 PM For me the 1980's shows I have already seen or never had interest in seeing when they were first on. So if they go, I won't be crying. As for Gillian's Island and Andy Griffin, what ever retro network they are on, they could go for they have been seen in the last 10 years.

BigManMike 03-16-2015, 09:42 PM I don't know why you think Belvedere and Doogie are leaving. They just started in January. Doogie is just mediocre. I catch it sometimes on Saturday nights if I'm not doing anything else but it's not a big favourite. But I am just loving Mr. Belvedere and I sure hope it isn't leaving.
It does appear to me that WKRP is probably going to be leaving because I see they are now just skipping around and just showing some of the best episodes and not going in any order. Plus I see it isn't airing on 3/29. And I know it started airing in April 2012 so I'm thinking it may be a 3 year contract that is getting ready to expire.
ThomasE 03-16-2015, 10:40 PM It should replace Good times or sanford and son but we both know it won't lol
For thrice in my life, I agree with you. One of these two should take break like three's co did for a spell. Sanford and Son can take a break and come back later.

.
Both Belvedere and Doogie have been shown in a full cycle already or will be by April 6th. Both are on 2x5 days a week, plus a separate 2x2 weekend cycle. Doogie is a late 80's/early 90's show, which AntennaTV has a history of taking off the air rather quickly (think The Nanny, Mad About You). Belvedere was not a ratings hit when it first run, and has more of a cult following than a broad audience. Both shows seem primed to come and go from the schedule multiple times over the next couple of years. Everything else that is currently on 2x5 days a week seems to be cemented into the schedule.
tvfreak1987 03-17-2015, 10:18 AM I don't know why you think Belvedere and Doogie are leaving.
I don't think it not airing on 3/29 has anything to do with it necessarily. They're doing something that weekend called "Stars & Cars Weekend". Does WKRP even have any episodes about cars? That may be the reason there.

That's true but look at this Sunday's episodes. They've just randomly chosen some of the best ones in no particular order. That seems odd.
icecream 03-17-2015, 12:45 PM Both Belvedere and Doogie have been shown in a full cycle already or will be by April 6th. Both are on 2x5 days a week, plus a separate 2x2 weekend cycle. Doogie is a late 80's/early 90's show, which AntennaTV has a history of taking off the air rather quickly (think The Nanny, Mad About You). Exposure on a popular classics channel like Antenna is just what Mr. Belvedere needs. There's several shows that were not popular in first-run but did well in syndication. I had never seen Mr. Belvedere until January and it quickly became one of my favorites. It deserves more than one cycle, there are shows that have had several more cycles that can leave.
mets82 03-17-2015, 05:24 PM Remember too, that this channel didnt give Benson a full cycle when they had it. You could argue that maybe Belvedere and Doogie dont draw ratings but how can you get an audience or grow a show if you dont show them? So in essence, lets say they take off Doogie and Belvedere and keep Good Times and Sanford and Son on. I mean why would you do that? Wouldnt you want to have Doogie and Belvedere find an audience and keep them on the air instead of having Sanford and Son and Good Times on for the millionth time?

Believe me, I'd much rather they take off Good Times and Sanford and Son, but I've been watching this network long enough (well, since the beginning) to know that's probably not going to happen.

I forgot about Benson. What they did with that show was a travesty, and proof that they aren't interested in developing audiences for certain shows.

In a way I can understand it, like when I have a pic on a dating profile that generates tons of responses I want always make sure I keep it in my collection. When I try a new pic and it doesn't generate the same responses, I lose patience and get rid of it lol
So that's probably what Antenna TV does with the shows in their collection
mets82 03-18-2015, 03:58 PM Yeah but you know what? I'd build around the series that they want to push. In other words, they want to make sure One Day at a Time and The Jeffersons do well but that shouldnt be at the expense of Doogie and Belvedere. Now, how's this for an example. This is just a prototype.
8pm-One Day at a Time
9pm-Doogie
9:30pm-Mr. Belvedere
10pm-The Jeffersons
11pm-Newhart

Belvedere and Doogie stay put, Maude and TCFC are gone from weekdays, and the daytime lineup was jumbled around for absolutely no reason at all.
Coffeecup 03-22-2015, 01:08 PM Burns and Allen on at 4am now. I just found Antenna Tv is January and now B and A are in the beginning shows. I do want to see the rest. When is the change starting? Don't want to miss Gracie and George.
Monday, April 6 (in two weeks)
ThomasE 03-22-2015, 03:10 PM Well, I am satisfied with the schedule. "One Day" is on at a good tiime. Even if got a graveyard time, I would have DVR'd it.

TVFactFan 03-22-2015, 08:25 PM Wouldn't it be 10 & 11pm because they say central and we are eastern time?
No I believe it's 9pm to 11pm, All Jeffersons and One Day at a Time
TVFactFan 03-22-2015, 10:01 PM Wow, Newhart bounced all the way out of the prime hours.
Because the show stinks
His 70's show is much better
tvfreak1987 03-22-2015, 11:33 PM No I believe it's 9pm to 11pm, All Jeffersons and One Day at a Time
No, he clearly said the times he listed are central time, so it's 10pm eastern for Jeffersons and 11pm for One Day at a Time.
TVFactFan 03-22-2015, 11:39 PM No, he clearly said the times he listed are central time, so it's 10pm eastern for Jeffersons and 11pm for One Day at a Time.
