I am a devout Gilligans Island fan. Yes I am also proud of it. That doesn't make me bad does it? I mean after all, isn't it the most popular sitcom of all time? Or atleast of the 60s. So I guess I am not alone.

I love it too, in fact GI and 1966 Batman show are the only shows from the 60's I can tolerate.

I'm also a fan of "GI" but then again I love a ton of sitcoms from the 60s.

I used to love Gilligan's Island. It was on after school when I was growing up and I watched it as an adult when it was shown in reruns. So I was all excited when I heard it was coming to METV!! Well, IDK what happened , but I find myself not liking it as much as I used to? There are some eps that I like and will watch, but I never make a point to watch it all the time. Like I said IDK why I don't like it the way I used to?

The 60's is pretty much my favorite decade of sitcoms, but I'm not that into Gilligan anymore for some reason!

Oh no, Bonniegirl62. That is so sad. Well I hope you rediscover your interest for GI again one day :-)I'm crossing my fingers for you.

I think we all have shows that particularly strike a chord in us. While I enjoy watching GI when it comes my way, I'm not a collector of the series. But for those of you who are, more power to you! I'm always happy when a fan of a show can have good access to it; because some shows are still hard to find.

I LOVE Gilligan's Island! There's no shame in admitting that. It's a great, fun series- definitely a 1960's favorite. (Though I like tons of others from the '60s and other decades too.)
The number of times that cast has had reunions, whether through TV movies or cartoon series based on the show (it had 2 of them) or interview appearances or appearances in character on other TV shows (ALF and Baywatch, to name a few) or even reality shows based on the series and commercials- that alone should speak to its longevity and quality.
It's a good, clean, fun and funny show. No guilty pleasure here- it's just a pleasure!:)

For the commercial I was referencing, check out this series of 1988-1989 McDonald's ads that featured Gilligan, along with a number of other familiar faces from '50s and '60s shows. :-)

One reason people are turned off of Gilligan's Island is probably there aren't that many episodes available since it only ran three seasons. I'd get it on DVD in it ran a few more years.

Fantastic show. Unfairly reviewed by critics in my opinion. The true test of its greatness is its continued popularity. I have found that a large number of today's kids really like the show if they are given the opportunity to watch it.

The 60's is my favorite decade for television of all types. I was born in late 1966, so I didn't watch any of these shows in their original run, but the 60's sitcoms were the main staples of afternoon tv when I was growing up in the mid to late 70's. In addition to Gilligan's Island, there was Hogan's Heroes, I Dream of Jeannie, Munsters, Addams Family, F Troop, Beverly Hillbillies, Dick Van Dyke Show, Andy Griffith - all these shows and others were my after school entertainment during the winter months when I was aged about 9 through 12.

But I also like the spy shows from the 60's, particularly I Spy and Secret Agent.

And the original Star Trek and Twilight Zone are favorites of mine, even though I don't much care for Science Fiction as a rule.

It was just a great decade for television.

That makes zero sense. If a show is good, it's good, no matter how many episodes it has.

I'm a GI fan. Been one since I was a kid. Own all 3 seasons on DVD. One of those shows I never tire of watching.
