I think he was Kate's uncle and the girls great uncle! ;) I'm pretty sure because if he was the girls uncle he would be Kate's brother and she called him Uncle Joe not just Joe. And he seemed a lot older than Kate too. I'm pretty sure he was her uncle, and the girls great uncle! ;)

I've always thought the same thing!

In the season 1 episode "Bedloe Strikes Again", Uncle Joe refers to Kate as his niece.

I wonder if Kate was Joe's brothers daughter or his sisters daughter?
