The CBS crime drama Person of Interest is now well into its 4th season. The show is based around a computer built after the 9-11 attacks. The mission of the computer (called the machine) is to predict crimes of terror. But this sophisticated computer also predicts common street crime and it’s up to the man who built the computer, Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) and former CIA operative John Reese (Jim Caviezel) to keep these potential crimes from happening. This series has become so complex that it is keeping new viewers from watching the show. Hopefully with the implementation of 5 ways to fix Person of Interest, the show will become a friendlier show to build on its base viewership.

Person of Interest starring Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson airs on CBS Thursdays at 10 pm ET.

More Story Arcs of Intrigue vs. Conspiracy

Some of the episodes in Personal of Interest are so conspiracy laden that the viewer may feel like they are watching a dream that is being had by director Oliver Stone (known for his conspiracy theories). It’s best to keep the conspiracy stories as a longer story that lasts several episodes and keep the episode story about an item of intrigue.

Allow Michael Emerson to Direct an Episode

Shows that have a complicated storyline often do well if one of the lead actors are permitted to direct an episode. Michael Emerson, with his Shakespearean training, is just the right actor to put an unusual spin on the show he know so well.

Introduce Former Lost Stars as Guest Stars

Since Michael Emerson played an important character on LOST it would be interesting to bring a few Lost actors onto Person of Interest as guest stars. This would bring a great number of Lost fans to get to know Person of Interest and well, it could be load of fun as well.

Better Explain the High Tech Security Breaches

Some of the technology lines are above our heads. The best way to explain how the high tech security breaches take place is to bring in an intern character to the show. Finch will have to explain the breaches in layman terms to the intern and this will help the viewers better understand the show.

Employ Back Story Time Jumps to Lend John Reese (Jim Caviezel) More Dimension

We know so very little about John Reese’s past. It’s time we get to know his back story and in turn learn why he is the way he is. This is also a great way to add a few more everyday story lines into the show and perhaps a love interest or two would also be favorable.
