Like many cable networks that can't show nudity, the USA Network has had a hard time justifying its existence. Aside from a few programs where and there (and of course Monday Night Raw), the network generally carried the stink for saving shows that were canceled on other networks only to utterly screw them over ( Air Wolf and Forever Knight leap to mind). Sure with Monk, Burn Notice and today's entry there's at least three decent if not great pieces of original programming, but in general it still kind of ends up a sort of NBC-Universal dumping ground, which is a shame. So lets celebrate a show it managed to do before CBS got their hands on the suspiciously similar concept.. I'm of course kidding, calling The Mentalist a rip-off of Psych is like calling Grey's Anatomy a Scrubs rip-off: not perhaps without foundation, but ultimately different. - See more at: http://www.wewantinsanity.com/am2/publish/Peter_Dawson/When_Good_Shows_Go_Bad_Psych.shtml#sthash.7ipQbyMy.dpuf
