I'm talking about movies that were initially quite popular and really seemed to capture the zeitgeist but which have now faded more than one might have expected. The fading is especially poignant if the movies were actually pretty original.

Austin Powers, for awhile at least people would quote and talk like Austin Powers.

I miss that fad...
"Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and "Dick Tracy" had a big pop culture in the late 80's and early 90's...by 1993, they were forgotten.

I feel like Napoleon Dynamite would probably fall in this category, even though I still love it and quote from it at times.:)

I love that movie. They even tried to do an animated series, but it didn't last. But yeah, at the time of its release Heder was making appearances everywhere as Napoleon.

Maybe because it gave kids to say the word "dick" without getting into trouble!
I had cards, posters, and even a book that was all Dick Tracy...I even based a character I made-up called Richard Tracie...it'll be a comedy.

Now with movie titles like Kick-Ass and Dinner With Schmucks I guess it's ok now for kids to act immature.

It'll be a future film that I'm planning on writing as well as "Double-P Paul" which is a U.S. version of James Bond but lacks in what he learned from his secret agent father and grandfather, "Stupid Men" where a group of Stupor Heroes fight crime yet **** everything up, and many more...most scripts that I'm gonna write will be comedies.
