Afterall being on TV used to be a big deal,whether you were a star or not.That doesn't seem to hold true anymore. If you were on a hit show or even a reasonably popular show during the 1950s-80s most people knew who you were,whether they watched the show or not.There was a lot glamour, prestige and of course fame about being on television in general. This was even true into the 1990s, to a lesser degree though..That is not the case anymore,not even close,at least in my opinion. Has it come to the point where being on television means almost nothing these days. What do you think?

If you mean in terms of recognizabilty for the actors on popular TV shows then yeah I guess it doesn't matter anymore, I mean people still know who Ted Danson, Jerry Seinfeld and Roseanne are but if you can ask a random person to name someone off shows like Mad Men, The Walking Dead and Game Of Thrones most of the time the people just know them by their faces.

^That's part of what I mean.Yeah being on television used to make a lot of people household names.However it goes further than that.There used to be something special about being on TV in general,star or not. That no longer seems to be true and hasn't been for quite some time now.For the most part there's nothing unique or special about being on modern/contemporary TV at all anymore.It's almost the opposite of how it used to be.
