From the early days of Life With Elizabeth on KLAC-TV in 1951 to Park St. Under on WCVB in 1979, I have been fascinated with sitcoms created for local markets. I was shocked last year to read in an excellent biography on Verna Felton about a completely forgotten local series called Oh, Miss Tubbs! which aired on W6XAO-TV in 1945. This has led me to wonder just how many forgotten scripted TV comedies were produced and aired locally. It would be divine to get a comprehensive list by station. Which ones do you remember?

As I recall there were quite a few locally produced shows that were viewed in the region of which they were made. When I was a child there were many childrens shows on in the Boston area. Bozo, Boomtown, Roomper Room. I went to a taping of the talk show "People are Talking" done on WBZ in the early 1990's. One episode that stands out were the parents of the teenage kids who participated in the Pamela Smart case.
