What is your favorite talk show past & present? What show is the worst?Do you have a special talk show moment?

To me most of todays shows are the same. Jerry Springer is getting old, well it IS old.

Everytime I tune in Maury its always about teenage girls or "whom is the daddy" kind of show.

Rosie is cool, Sally used to be on the radio where I live- liked her better then than now.
Regis is cool too.

past shows...
I always liked Donahue, Merv Griffin, and Dinah. I also remember how good Mike Douglas was.Morton Downey was fun to watch though I have to admit it would have gooten old ( like Springer ) if it stayed on the air.

Ask e. Jean on the now defunct America's Talking ( now MSNBC ) was also cool as well as CNBC's sex show real Personal, liked it better than MTV's Lovelines.

moments I remember:
Mike Douglas: the times Lucy did that show
sometimes Vivian Vance appeared too. Also the ones hosted by John Lennon & Yoko Ono.

Dinah: all those 70s bands like Bo Donaldson ( Billy, Dont be a Hero ), Player, Starland Vocal Band, even CW McCall ( remember Convoy ??).

Morton Downey Jr: Having a child preacher on there only to have the son's dad tell Mort that he will go to hell. Then Mort bend over and told them what they could do with themselves. I have the one show about Tipper Gore and the PMRC,good show. Sad to know that he is no longer with us thanks to his years of smoking those Merits.

The topless donut shop in Fort Collins, CO on Geraldo. Also the big fight where he got his nose broken.

Anybody remember the real old shows like Joe Pyne, Les Crane, and Pat Boone's, even Jim Nabors'? I believe Crane was married to Tina Louise once.

Well, you can't even begin to talk about the best talk shows without metioning the undisputed queen of talk, Oprah Winfery.. although her show may be getting old she is still the best one on tv. i also like the view and rosie... anada lewis's show is pretty good to.

Sally used to be good but now she just sucks.. ricki lake is ok to.

Lumpy: Did you go out for anything, Dud?

Dudley: Well, I went out for football, but I got my finger stepped on, so my mother made me quit.

Eddie: Well listen-- I went out for basketball and I got my hair pulled, and my mother made ME quit.

Dudley: It's not that I was afraid of getting hurt or anything; it's just that-- well, it's kind o' hard to play the flute with a busted finger.

[Eddie and Lumpy suppress laughter]

Dale Midkiff is my man! :)

Yes I remember him! He was very controversial. Wasn't it he who died under mysterious circumstances? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Joe Pyne died in 1970 from Lung Cancer ( like Morton Downey he was a very heavy smoker ). Pyne was also big in the early days
of talk radio.

I did forget one talk show host who I enjoyed both on tv and radio, Tom Snyder.
I remember the interview he did back in the 70s of Larry Fine ( 3 Stooges . Fine at the time was in a nursing home recovering from a stroke, died soon after.

There are no good talk shows. There never have been any good talk shows and there will never be any good talk shows. What would make a talk show worth watching is if the character played by whoever showed up and not the actor. There is no bigger Leave it to Beaver fan then me. I once saw Jerry on a talk show. He had nothing to say. Which is true for most stars. If someone isn't writing lines for them....

None current.

I used to, on occasion, watch "Regis & Kathie Lee", "Rosie", Ricki Lake", & "Jenny Jones".

1. Johnny Carson
2. Jay Leno

I generally don't like daytime talk shows, they have taken over too much and replaced a lot of the syndicated reruns that used to air.

I used to have a lot of Joe Pyne shows. I uploaded some on YouTube or Patreon, but I possibly deleted some, or lost the thumb drives (some go bad). I found a Les Crane episode (clips) when Mort Sahl and Hugh Hefner were on there.

Honestly, if I hear somebody really important is going to be on any of the talk shows on right now, I'll just watch their segment on YouTube when I get a chance.
