I do not mean to rain on anyone's parade, but I feel the singer JoJo was not fit for her role on American Dreams, playing Linda Ronstadt. I feel they should have brought in Lana Parrilla instead, and also to change the song she sings from "That'll Be the Day" to "You're No Good."

I think that the show was idiotic as Ronstadt was several years away from the start of her career when the show takes place in the early 60s. They played with time because their attitude was, if you know how wrong all of this stuff is, you're old and we don't care about you anyway. Oh, and I haven't the slightest idea who either person you mentioned is.

The only song of Linda's that would've been appropriate for that period in time - as the script was written - would've been the Michael Nesmith-penned "Different Drum," from 1967.

Her version of "That'll Be the Day" wasn't released until 1976. Likewise, "You're No Good," as the same singer interpreted it, wasn't out until '74 (though the original by Dee Dee Warwick - Dionne's sister - was released in 1962 despite not being a chart hit until Betty Everett re-recorded it the following year, and would've been a perfect fit for season 1).
