In an interview with Brian Williams, Seinfeld admitted, “I think, on a very drawn-out scale, I think I’m on the spectrum.” Seinfeld hasn’t been formally diagnosed (http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/to-your-health/wp/2014/11/12/for-some-parents-of-autistic-children-jerry-seinfelds-self-diagnosis-was-a-slap-in-the-face/), but when asked why he thinks he’s on the Autism spectrum, he replied: “You know, never paying attention to the right things. Basic social engagement is really a struggle. I’m very literal, when people talk to me and they use expressions, sometimes I don’t know what they’re saying.” He added: “But I don’t see it as dysfunctional. I just think of it as an alternate mindset.”

Jerry Seinfeld Clarifies Autism Remarks: "I'm Not on the Spectrum"

Jerry Seinfeld is clearing up his recent comments about autism spectrum disorders.

In a Wednesday interview with Extra's Billy Bush, Seinfeld backed away from statements he made earlier this month to NBC Nightly News host Brian Williams in which he claimed to be on the autism spectrum.

"I don't have autism; I'm not on the spectrum," Seinfeld told Bush.

The Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee star said that people were making too much of an issue of his previous statements. "I just was watching this play about it and ... I related to it on some level," the legendary comedian continued. "That's all I was saying."

In his Nov. 6 interview with Williams, Seinfeld told the news anchor, "I think I'm on the spectrum," adding that "basic social engagement is really a struggle."
