Season 5 and 6 will have seperate DVD releases. They're being released on the 3rd of february.

I received that news from TV Shows to DVD website, yesterday, and am absolutely thrilled! I was fortunate enough to have gotten almost all of the episodes from seasons 5 and 6, from Hallmark, a couple of years ago. But missing one episode made me feel pretty badly. (Power outage in the neighborhood.) Glad I can get the commercial version.

Wondering if they'll include that interview that went in the Complete Collection!

I had S 1-4 but still bought the boxed set, and I am thrilled to have the whole series.
Very happy that anybody who just wanted to add S 5 + 6 now will be able to do that.

I can't wait!! I have the first 4 season on dvd already…I was hoping for the complete series to go down or the remaining seasons released…I will be getting them in Feb.

I did own the original 1-4 seasons but I gave them to my Aunt and I bought the complete series box set. I don't regret it one little bit. I love the sturdiness of the complete series sets that Shout! releases. They use sturdy, high grade cardboard.

That's another reason why I got my money's worth out of the Barney and Bob releases. They hardly wear out like the standard boxes do.

I think maybe leaving the season number out altogether in The Bob Newhart Show Season 6 DVD release will end up disrespecting the memory of Suzanne Pleshette and Marcia Wallace (considering how both actresses died right before their 71th birthdays within a calendar year). Shout Factory didn't need to do this (have the packaging or spine NOT say "SEASON SIX"); they're such a terrible company because of this.

I think once somebody in this forum buys the "Season Six" (sorry, Shout, I refuse to call the release "THE FINAL SEASON", despite the fact that it technically was) DVD, that somebody can thoroughly examine the DVD set and find the word "SIX" on it (covers, discs, anywhere).

I'm not thrilled about "The Final Season" on the box cover, either, but what can you do about it (except complain)?

I've got seasons 5 and 6 on pre-order from Amazon, since my local places will probably not carry them. As soon as they arrive, I will look over the box!
