I just checked mine. I have almost 1,400 posts and I signed up on July 10. A little over 4 months now. So like around 350 posts a month! Is that right? I just figured that really quick in my head!

OH Nuts!

Congratulations on 20,000 posts, Penny Lane! That's pretty awesome!:) :cool:
(By the way, I love your current avatar. Very nice to remember the 51st. anniversary of that sad event when President John F. Kennedy was killed....:( - Also on November 22, 1963- of course, I'm sure a lot of other people died that today. But two other famous authors also died on that day- Aldous Huxley (author of "Brave New World" and "Brave New World Revisited") and C.S. Lewis (author of "Mere Christianity", "The Chronicles of Narnia" books, "The Screwtape Letters", "The Great Divorce", "The Weight of Glory" and a number of others- all excellent!))

Yes, Nov. 22 1963 is well ingrained in my memory. I was 13 years old and in the 8th grade. The principal came over the PA system with the news. We were stunned! I'll never forget that weekend glued to the tv and the funeral. Every time I hear the Navy hymn "Eternal Father , Strong To Save" I think of it. That hymn(so beautiful) still brings back memories and tears to my eyes .:(

Oh wow- neat to hear this memory from someone who was there at the time.
Every time I hear the Navy hymn "Eternal Father , Strong To Save" I think of it. That hymn(so beautiful) still brings back memories and tears to my eyes .
I LOVE that hymn! I have read it was President Franklin D. Roosevelt's favorite hymn too- it was played at his funeral as well. (http://www.navy.mil/navydata/nav_legacy.asp?id=172)

Verse 1: Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

Verse 2: O Christ! Whose voice the waters heard
And hushed their raging at Thy word,
Who walked'st on the foaming deep,
And calm amidst its rage didst sleep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

Verse 3: Most Holy Spirit! Who didst brood
Upon the chaos dark and rude,
And bid its angry tumult cease,
And give, for wild confusion, peace;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

Verse 4: O Trinity of love and power!
Our brethren shield in danger's hour;
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them wheresoe'er they go;
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

Amen!:) :cool:
