View Full Version : Pretty messed up that Jack's date was such a SLUT
TVFactFan 11-03-2014, 02:27 AM In the ep Dates of Wrath
His date came to the apt to meet him there and the guy Bob was out there waiting for Janet to come out. So Jack's date starts flirting with Bob while Jack is in the girls bedroom trying to calm them down
He comes out the room and she is leaving with a guy she just met? LOL and had the nerve to say to Jack on the way out the door........."maybe some other time?
I would have said......."get your hooker A$$ the f*ck out of my apt right now"
Mace Dolex 11-03-2014, 03:34 AM Yeah Jack sure knew how to pick them.
TVFactFan 11-03-2014, 08:24 AM Jack should have taken his date to his room while he tried to work things out with Janet and Terri. Not sit her next to a young handsome dude. Lil
Bur then again I'd she was a cheater it would have happened anyway down the line

I thought it was pretty brazen of her to hook up with another guy while in Jack's friggin' apartment! Imagine, meeting your date at HIS house and leaving with someone else instead! Who does that?

I so totally agree. I don't know why thread titles now need to have "JERK", "FAT GIRL", and "SLUT". Someone's begging for attention using a wrong method.

Fat girl and slutty was accurate.

Wow. I am sorry if my participation in the thread was offensive, I didn't mean it to be. But calling us ugly, gross and disrespectful is a little harsh! We were commenting on a character from an old TV show is all. Not a person in real life or even the actress, just the character!

maybe you should log out and take a break from Sitcomsonline

I just think using the word "slut" (especially in all-caps, the equivalent of YELLING), is disrespectful and crude, no matter to whom it's directed. Perhaps I was a little harsh, but I am disappointed when people use disrespectful language and then laugh about it.
TVFactFan, I reported you. I don't know what kind of clout you have or imagine yourself having, but I don't much give a damn. You continue to post offensive things with offensive language, which is against the forum rules. You seem to be a big fan of Three's Company, so it's a shame that we can't have a more civil discourse.

we have been having good discussions but you got all bent out of shape lol
And I ask you to take a break from the site for a while since you seem so uptight

In TVFactFan's defense, Bernice actually was "fat" (sweet, kind and fat) That's called accuracy. And the "slut" in question actually was a floozy seeing as how she had a date with Jack, she was with Jack at HIS apartment yet chose to leave with another man. Sorry, that is slutty behavior.

Pretty sad I have to explain this, but okay---here goes.
My issue isn't with the meaning of the word. It's the context and intention of the word. In this case, FAT GIRL (in all caps) and SLUT (in all caps) places a very specific intention of meaning---to insult and and degrade the character/person/thing/ to which they are referring. Hence, they are derogatory terms.
I can think of some insulting words that mean "gay" or "black person" that no decent person uses because they are derogatory in nature. Sometimes words are more than their dictionary meaning.
(And I won't get into how the word "slut" very specifically targets women by implying women should be judged and condemned for being sexual. Is there a male equivalent? I don't think so. Even the word "man-whore" uses the term "whore," which has been defined as a patently feminine word. Unless the prefix "man" is attached---with decidedly less stank--- "whore" and "slut" are always ascribed to females. Whatever.)
I'm just suggesting everyone be mindful of word choice. And using ALL CAPS...well that's always annoying.

OK, but I didn't ever use all caps, so I don't know why you are directing this at me. BTW, I don't know how "gay" or "black person" are insulting. As a matter of fact, my very best friend in this world is "gay" and "black." He doesn't get insulted if you describe him as a gay black man because that's what he is.... accuracy.

She is REALLY over thinking this. That's just my opinion.

She didn't say that the terms "gay" or "black person" are insulting, she said "I can think of some insulting words that mean 'gay' or 'black person.'"

My comment was not meant to be gender specific. Any person, male or female, who shows up at their date's apartment, but takes off with someone else instead, is a scumbag in my opinion. You may think I'm gross for thinking that, but if you condone that sort of behavior, I find that gross.
